Garlic and Herbes de Provence Compound Butter

A fragrant addition to grilled steaks, roast chicken, or mashed potatoes with flavors of savory garlic and a blend of French herbs.

Makes 16 servings


  • 1 cup Vital Farms Salted Butter, room temperature
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoons dried Herbes de Provence


  • Add the butter, garlic, and herbes de Provence to a medium bowl and using a fork, wooden spoon, or rubber spatula, mash mixture together until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer mixture to a piece of parchment or wax paper and shape into a rough log. Roll it up and twist both ends tightly to compact the mixture.
  • Refrigerate until firm. Then, slice and enjoy.
