Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons Vital Farms Sea Salted Butter
- 1 clove garlic finely grated
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano finely chopped, plus more for sprinkling on top
- 16 ounces store-bought pizza dough
- 1/3 cup store-bought pizza sauce, such as Rao's
- 8 ounces Italian blend cheese or a mix of mozzarella, fontina, provolone, and Parmesan, shredded
Instructions
- Place a 12-inch or larger cast-iron skillet in the oven on the middle rack and preheat oven to 500°F or as high as your oven will go.
- In a small saucepan, combine the butter and garlic and heat over medium-low heat until butter is melted and garlic is fragrant.
- Remove from heat and stir in oregano then set aside.
- On a piece of parchment paper, stretch the dough out to about a 12-inch round, leaving a 1-inch lip around the edge for the crust.
- Brush the garlic butter generously all over the dough, including the crust.
- Spread a thin, even layer of the pizza sauce all over the bottom of the pizza.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the pizza sauce and sprinkle reserved oregano on top.
- Remove the pre-heated skillet from the oven and carefully lay the pizza into the pan, using the parchment. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, until crust is puffed and golden and the cheese is golden-brown and bubbling.
- Cool for a few minutes, brush the crust with the remaining garlic butter, slice up and serve.
