Four Cheese Garlic Butter Pizza

This lovely cheese pizza, inspired by Home Alone is loaded with four types of cheese and brushed with a quick and flavorful homemade garlic butter for maximum flavor.

Makes 1 12-inch pizza

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Vital Farms Sea Salted Butter
  • 1 clove garlic finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano finely chopped, plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 16 ounces store-bought pizza dough
  • 1/3 cup store-bought pizza sauce, such as Rao's
  • 8 ounces Italian blend cheese or a mix of mozzarella, fontina, provolone, and Parmesan, shredded

Instructions

  • Place a 12-inch or larger cast-iron skillet in the oven on the middle rack and preheat oven to 500°F or as high as your oven will go.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the butter and garlic and heat over medium-low heat until butter is melted and garlic is fragrant.
  • Remove from heat and stir in oregano then set aside.
  • On a piece of parchment paper, stretch the dough out to about a 12-inch round, leaving a 1-inch lip around the edge for the crust.
  • Brush the garlic butter generously all over the dough, including the crust.
  • Spread a thin, even layer of the pizza sauce all over the bottom of the pizza.
  • Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the pizza sauce and sprinkle reserved oregano on top.
  • Remove the pre-heated skillet from the oven and carefully lay the pizza into the pan, using the parchment. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, until crust is puffed and golden and the cheese is golden-brown and bubbling.
  • Cool for a few minutes, brush the crust with the remaining garlic butter, slice up and serve.
