Overview of the Role
The Maintenance Technician will be expected to develop maintenance processes and perform all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and preventative types of maintenance on egg processing equipment, aimed at continuous improvement of equipment reliability.  The individual must have excellent mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting capability, and have the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to coach and develop crew members’ technical capabilities.  This full time position requires availability Monday through Friday 7 am to 3 pm.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to react to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager, Line Leads, and site leadership to develop and implement ideas to drive increased productivity
  • Implement spare parts criticality assessment to ensure all critical spare parts stocking levels are adequate to fully support processing equipment
  • Perform regular reviews of machine performance, identifying problems and concerns and recommending and/or implementing changes to improve overall performance
  • Ensure all personal safety and food safety procedures are rigorously followed
  • Be able to communicate well with all levels of the organization with primary customers being line leads and site leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement of break down and waste elimination processes
  • Anticipate problems and makes quick decisions under time pressure
  • Able to work safely in an environment where regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions
  • Must be able to communicate well with outside agencies i.e. contractors, equipment suppliers, technical consultants and vendors
  • Other duties as required



Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English for safety reasons
  • Minimum of three years prior operations maintenance experience
  • Have knowledge of sets up, operations, adjustments to equipment or machinery
  • Proficient computer knowledge; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and designated inventory systems
  • Have a working knowledge of PLC’s
  • Strong planning and organizing, problem solving, math, and communication skills; verbal and written
  • Strong people skills and ability to deal with all levels of employee and management groups
  • Demonstrate strong accountability, consistency and follow-through skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Proven experience in leadership / supervisory roles
