Chipotle Cilantro Compound Butter

Add this smoky, herbaceous butter to grilled steaks or sweet summer corn.

Makes 16 servings


  • 1 cup Vital Farms Salted Butter, room temperature
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce from a can, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped


  • Add the butter, chipotle peppers, and cilantro to a medium bowl and using a fork, wooden spoon, or rubber spatula, mash mixture together until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer mixture to a piece of parchment or wax paper and shape into a rough log. Roll it up and twist both ends tightly to compact the mixture.
  • Refrigerate until firm. Then, slide and enjoy.
