We’re looking for thoughtful, hardworking farmers to raise high-quality pullets (young hens) that will go on to join our flocks. Pullet Farming FAQS

Pullets are typically raised from the day they’re hatched until 15-16 weeks of age before transitioning to a laying farm.

Being a Vital Farms farmer means meeting the highest standards for animal welfare and egg quality. You’ll be in the barn multiple times a day, continuously monitoring conditions and collecting detailed documentation to ensure an optimal environment for bird health and wellbeing. Our dedicated Farmer Support team will work alongside you to provide ongoing guidance and recommendations for continuous improvements.

We provide hands-on guidance, veterinary support, and a close-knit community to help you succeed.

Farmers must be within 100 miles of Sedalia, Missouri, or Green Forest, Arkansas.

To make sure Vital Farms is a good fit for you, please confirm you meet each requirement below before applying.
  1. Your farm is located within 100 miles of Sedalia, Missouri, or Green Forest, Arkansas.
  2. You have an existing barn that can be retrofitted to meet our standards.
  3. The vast majority of our farmers work with lenders to finance the investment. Are you willing to consider a loan to pursue becoming a Vital Farms farmer?
  4. This is an owner-operator role. Are you willing to commit your time to hands-on, daily care for your pullets?
