We’ve got something new in the works — and we’re very excited about it.
We’re adding a handful of Vital Farms-owned farms throughout Indiana and Kentucky. These farms will make up a small slice (less than 5%!) of our overall network, but they’re a big part of our work to improve the lives of people, animals and the planet through food.
These are purpose-built spaces where we can learn to farm smarter and more sustainably. They’re our playground for testing bold ideas that we could eventually scale across all our farms. Think regenerative farming experiments like increasing biodiversity and enhancing forage quality.
These new farms will raise hens using our same high standards for animal welfare. What sets them apart is the role they’ll play in helping us grow more intentionally. They’ll also support long-term community growth in Indiana and Kentucky, bring new jobs to local towns, and give us room to innovate without asking small farmers to take on the risk and expense. Plus, more farms for us = more eggs for you.
The vast majority of our eggs will still come from family farms, and that’s not going to change. But now, we’ve got a new way to have their backs. And we think that’s worth talking about.
As always, we welcome your questions. Drop us a line at info@vitalfarms.com!
In the meantime, you can visit the link in our bio to meet some incredible farmers working hard to bring ethical food to the table. Thank you for supporting our purpose of improving the lives of people, animals, and the planet through food — we can’t wait to share more of this journey with you!
