First , love Becky with the good feathers. Second, it’s heartening to learn how well treated your girls are.
Third, I couldn’t believe how much better your eggs taste. My friends didn’t think it’s possible until they tasted one of your eggs. They only buy Vital Farms now. Good job All!
I am so happy to find your eggs and butter in not just one but two nearby stores! I tell all my friends they can buy nothing but!.
I will not support any company that raises animals in a way I would not do myself.
And your butter is delicious!
We’ve been eating your eggs for a few years. I love that you provide eggs from chickens who are treated humanely. The eggs are delicious and my conscience is clear. Recently, I tried your butter for the first time. Wow!!! I made biscuits with your butter and my family devoured them. Your butter is far superior to any other butter out there. Keep up the great work, our family appreciates all you do!
These eggs are worth every penny. I know they are pricey so I cut back. Thank you.
After Easter your eggs were reduced and the carton design attracted my attention. I purchased 1 and started reading enclosed pamphlet when I got home. Could not wait to try them ! Unbelievable difference in yolk color and tasted sooo yummy! Thank you for giving your chickens the life they deserve. Edie
Went chanterelle picking this morning, and added four of your lovely eggs, the result was pure heaven!
I live in Madison, Wisconsin. Several years ago, I began buying eggs from a coworker who raised pastured hens. As a Los Angeles native who had never tasted anything other than mass-produced, factory-farmed food, it was a revelation. The yolks were orange, the texture was both lighter and heftier, and the eggs were just a pleasure to both cook with and eat. Sadly, I left the company and it was just too hard to get eggs that way again. I’ve LONGED for those eggs…I cook a LOT, and as a vegan I avoid animal products to the fullest extent possible, and would be avoiding eggs, too….Until I met YOU. Thank you. From the depths of my skillet and my gullet, thank you. Your eggs are the best I’ve had since my beloved coworker’s farm eggs. They’re insanely good. I deviate from my plant-based menus ONLY for your eggs.
Just wanted to say your sea salted butter is the best I ever ate!!! I am a forever customer!!! I’m trying the eggs next. I already know they too are the best ever! Thank you for taking care of your precious animals the way you do!! They are beautiful creatures and I only buy from humane places. Your website is wonderful and your products are amazing!!! Thank you for having such a great organic real product!!
I just wanted to write to you guys to express how much I appreciate your company! I absolutely love your eggs and butter; your products are the only kind I buy at the store! I love that you guys have happy hens and that everything is pasture raised and ethically farmed! It’s incredible! I can tell the difference between your eggs and other eggs from a mile away! Thanks for everything you do! I can’t tell you how much I love your company! Have a wonderful day!
I just enjoyed breakfast made with 1 vital farm egg and 1 organic marketplace egg… 1/2 avocado and some micro sprouts. It was delicious! Recently I moved into a condo, giving up my hobby farm and chickens. These eggs are the best I’ve found, and I know a good egg when I see it. Thank you for your vision, your work and the product.
Normally I buy fresh eggs from the “egg man” who has a farm and who lives out of town. I buy many dozens for myself and friends and they last a long time. When I can’t connect with the egg man, I buy from the Safeway and I happened to have chosen Vital Farms and bought a half dozen. While pricey, I loved the whole humane aspect and when I found the “Vital Times” newsletter in the carton and read it, I cracked up (no pun intended). How fabulous…”Bird of the Month” and the tongue in cheek cartoons. I seriously laughed out loud and enjoyed reading the whole little newsletter. I thought it was so fun that I also scanned it and sent a copy to my friend whom I knew would appreciate the humor and the Mission…she’s totally into organic and grows her own organic vegetables. It’s a whole thing to connect with the “egg man” so meanwhile, to tide me over, I buy Vital Farms and save my little newsletters because I think they’re so much fun. Whoever came up with this idea is genius…at least to those of us with a sense of humor. I’m an animal lover even though I also eat meat and poultry but I’m also the first one in the complex to be guardian to resident wildlife. Condo rules state we aren’t allowed to feed the wildlife. I totally ignore this rule when it’s freezing out and other times as well to be honest. I supplement with nutritious snacks on the down-low. I love connecting with wildlife and while we can’t have chickens, I did have a wild neighborhood bunny who came for her snack every morning while I sat in front of the flower garden having my coffee. She eventually ate carrots from my hand. Continued success to Vital Farms. I admire your Mission and will support you as I can. Namaste.
When young I had an aunt and uncle with a small farm and chicken ranch. I had their eggs for lunch daily. After losing them I’ve only had what I term “good eggs” from a neighbor that shared eggs from her extremely well cared for chickens. Then one day I noticed Vital Farms at Whole Foods and thought I’d give them a try, as I have with other good-sounding eggs. Well, Vital Farms turned out to be the Real Deal. I have been going through 2 dozen a week ever since then. More when I bake. You can watch the egg come out of the shell and see for yourself the beautiful rich yolk, and whites that don’t try to run right out of the skillet. You can always tell when it’s winter egg time but the difference is quite small and still better than any other eggs I’ve tried that teased me with false advertising. I have actually told people at the egg display at WF that hey, you want good, healthful eggs, try Vital Farms once. That’s all it takes. If you won’t spend the money for good quality food you really need to rethink your priorities. I am a very healthy (no meds) 70-year-old that has been eating the best quality food available all my life. That quest for quality food is getting easier and people should be more concerned with what they are eating rather than what they are driving or what kind of cell phone they use. So thanks, folks, and keep the ladies happy.
Your eggs are by far the most fresh, flavorful, rich eggs I have ever purchased in a store. It’s not even close.
We really like the eggs so we thought we’d try the butter. Wow. We normally use butter from Ireland, but your butter is every bit as good. That’s the only kind we’re buying from now on.
Well, VF, I am ‘hooked’ on your eggs. I found them months ago, loved them and purchased for several months. Budget crunch came and I thought, “Well, I can do without VF eggs.” So I did. Sad decision. I compared every other eggs – bless their pale, listless yolks, and none came close. I’d read their labels and see the omissions, deceptions, areas not written about – compared to full disclosure egg cartons you have. It is like reading a small comic book – so much information in such a small space. So, I’m back again. Eating fewer eggs, but eating VF eggs exclusively. Thank you for this oasis in the egg desert.
I recently tried your butter and WOW! What a great tasting butter, so creamy and smooth. I usually try an Irish brand butter, but your’s rocks!!!
I suspected as much: all those cartons saying, “Organic,” “Cage-Free,” “All-Natural.” I didn’t believe I was getting ethically-raised eggs until I started buying yours. Not only do I love the inserts “Is that when we started on Grass?” “Boys-To-Hen”, etc., I love the color of the yolks and the exceptional flavor. I am so happy to be eating your eggs every day.
I had been looking for a local farm to buy my eggs and I saw yours in Publix, thought I would give them a try and they are so fresh, even the yolk is an orange color which says a lot as compared to the usual pale yellow color most eggs have. I will continue to buy these now.
So I never do this kind of thing at all, but my wife and I absolutely love your bullshit free eggs (and we just watched the commercial this morning for the first time and well done sir/ma’am). My wife is a dietitian and recommends buying your eggs when they can from the nearby Target/Whole Foods in New Orleans. My wife has especially enjoyed the Bird of the Month cards enclosed in the cartons. Anyways, just keep on what you’re doing, it’s fantastic.
I am sooo happy with your eggs. I do not know where I saw this AD of yours. I just recall seeing a guy telling us about a chicken/sq ft assigned by other guys vs. you. I bought it, and cracked it.. omg.. the yolk is sooo yellow. I only saw those in Fiji or Tahiti-where I stayed. None of the wholepaychecks eggs were this yellow. Great JOB… Thank you
Just wanted to say, I am so happy I have found Vital Farms eggs. A little expensive and well worth the price. Checked out your website and it is wonderful to see the above and beyond care for your animals. Vital Farms will always be my number one choice. Now I need to try your butter. Thanks again for those wonderful eggs, my recipes are so much better, and I feel a whole lot better, knowing where they are coming from.
Your eggs and butter are the best tasting ever…I love the fact your chickens are free range! Also I do love reading the Vital Times…I will never eat any other eggs ever..Thank U for such a tasty product!!
I’ve gone rogue. We have a backyard coop with laying hens that, sadly, do not get out to forage very much since the arrival of our 3 rescue dogs. I supplement their feed with worms, but the eggs do not compare to yours. Thank you for your passion and commitment to providing exceptional products to our country!
Came across your yummy eggs this past week at our Grocery Outlet. Love the packaging too as very handy for “doo-dad” holders. When I opened and picked them up to make a recipe, it was such a wonder to hold “real hen bullets” from a store. I really miss my own “Henny Penny’s” so much. Thanks for making it real again. You kids rock!
I believe in everything your company stands for and I commend you and thank you! I will recommend everyone I know to buy your delicious eggs from happy hens!
So happy to have found your eggs! Having chickens myself I am extremely sensitive to the whole TRUE free ranging & letting “chickens be chickens”. I have had to purchase eggs the last several months for Holiday baking. Due to molt & those short winter days, my few girls have not been laying (Vex laid her first egg yesterday..my first in almost 12 weeks! I don’t use artificial light or heat to “force” laying). I am very happy to have found a group that sells eggs & treats their girls the way I treat mine & believe all should be treated. I knew as soon as I opened the carton this was the real deal as all the eggs were slightly diff sizes & shades of brown..and the yolks much deeper yellow ..I have recommended your eggs to those I sell mine to at work while I am unable to provide. Thank you!
At last! Delicious tasting eggs and butter. So rich and flavorful. Glad that the products are certified humane.
I didn’t eat eggs for decades knowing the poor chickens were abused then found your eggs at Kroger and I feel good buying from such a humane farm – and they are so good – better than ever. Thank you!
I began buying your eggs over the last year. They’re a little bit more expensive but pasture raised is so important. My grandad was a farmer and he always talked about how important it is to give the animals room. Your eggs are the only ones that I buy! I have recently began using your butter as well and I love it!
At first, the black and red and white
Box you came in caused delight
Then I tasted the cage free eggs
My soul ascended from the dregs
And then the butter came to light
Like silk on tongue-what a delight!
But wait, there’s more inside the box
A poem from Mills, oh what a fox
It’s how you make and sell your wares
That keeps me loyal, because you care.
I love that you take care of “the girls” and they have plenty of space to scratch and peck and run and eat. I decided years ago that spending the extra $ on these eggs was well worth how “the girls” were treated. Thank you! We do love your Alfresco eggs (and the egg carton is VERY pretty too)!
I made your eggs side by side with a store brand organic egg. Wow amazing difference. Your eggs had a bright orange yolk and stood up high in the pan. The other egg was pale yellow and thin white ran in the pan. I loved the taste of your eggs better too. Just wish they were around $5.00 price though, as I need to buy three boxes a week. Dr. Berg and Dr. Mercola recommend your eggs in their ketogenic diet videos too.
Rats! I wish I had seen the ability to attach a photo before I started cooking breakfast this morning. I just performed my own personal Bob Workman Egg Comparison Test between 3 eggs: Egglands Best Organic Extra Large, 365 organic “cage free-plus”, and The Girls’ Jumbo Alfresco eggs. Result: Two matching yellow yolks and one big alfresco glorious orange yolk. ‘Nuff Said.
I usually buys organic eggs sometimes egglands best eggs that was before i learned about your eggs. but, i always think something is always missing from their eggs. One day i saw your eggs at NOB HILL store i gave it a try. I was soooo please to see dark yellow orange egg yolk. sinced that time i have always purchased Vital pastured raised eggs. sometimes stores that carries your eggs runs out of your supply well, i just wait until supply comes in or drive to whole foods for 35 minutes just to get your eggs. please continue your passion.
Even if I didn’t love your eggs–and I do–I would buy these just for the packaging. It makes me happy just to look at the egg carton. Happier still to know that the girls are treated humanely. My store only has the regular eggs, so the black background. Kudos to the designer. And now I see that you also have butter. OMG! as you kids would say. I’ll have to see if my Publix will start to carry it.
I have loved your eggs for years because the flavor is sublime and they are fresh. I just tried your butter and I am just as impressed. This is like French butter in France. Fresh, delicious and the true texture of butter. No more imported butter for me. I want the fresh never frozen butter from Texas. Thank you Vital Farms!
This is a great idea. Pasture raised and chickens go and come as they choose. This is the way for egg-laying hens to live. I would rather pay more for my eggs knowing that they come from this style of life. Thank you.
I purchased the Vital Farms Organic pastured eggs because I have an intolerance to histamines and was told to eat the yolks of your eggs and I haven’t had any issues! The eggs are so delicious.
I agree completely with all the praise your eggs get and deserve. I just wanted to add that I make my husband deviled eggs every day since he is on low carb diet. Your eggs were the easiest to remove the shell I have used since I was a kid and we had our own chickens. Recently I bought some organic, “free range chicken” eggs at the supermarket. It was a twofer sale. They were normally expensive eggs so I thought they would be just as good. They looked pitted when I shelled them and the taste was not at all the same. I am back to your eggs and I will never use a substitute again.
Thank you and your wonderful girls. We will buy your other products as soon as our supermarket gets them in stock.
I just moved here from Denver and most of the stores don’t sell your eggs. I have to make a special 30 minute trip just to buy your eggs which are the best eggs I’ve ever had. To be honest I wish I could be completely Vegan but since I really can’t, I feel it is our responsibility to make sure these animals are treated humanely. These animals give us products like eggs and even their lives to feed us and they should be as healthy and happy as possible! Thanks to people like yourselves, I can feel good about the food I eat.
I am so happy to found your eggs at local Kroger in Monroe. Believe me, I know the difference between “cage-free” and “free-range, pasture raised”!I am very picky when come to eggs. I love eggs and every day have a lightly boiled egg for breakfast. Vital Farm eggs are the MOST DELICIOUS AND TASTY eggs I ever had. Taste exactly like eggs from Europe, ( my husband was raised on the farm). And the color ; dark orange tells you everything!
Thank you for such a wonderful eggs and please keep supplying Kroger stores with your product!
I recently purchased your Vital Farms brown eggs at Whole Foods. I just had to take the time to tell you how much I liked your brown eggs. Several year’s ago I had the wonderful opportunity to travel through the countryside of France. We stayed at a B&B that served hard boiled brown eggs. They were delicious. I have never found any eggs in the States that tasted as good as those eggs until I tried your brand. I will definitely continue to buy your product. Thank you so much.
I had the chance to try your eggs for the first time this morning. I prepared them like I always do, simply scrambled in the frying pan and dusted with a little shredded cheese. I couldn’t believe the difference. These were full of flavor, fluffy and light and just the best eggs I think I’ve ever tasted. Thank you!!
I’ve been vegetarian for some time now, partially because I don’t want to support the massively-unsustainable animal meat production industry. That said, many of the low-carb recipes I enjoy call for eggs. I’m willing to bend for this ingredient, as long as the eggs are sustainable, and ethically, sourced. I found your company at my local grocer, and I was thrilled when doing some research on your organization to find how you treat your animals humanely, as well as uphold your partner farms to the same standards. Because of your efforts, I am more than happy to pay double the price for ethically-sourced eggs. So, thank you for taking charge in this industry! Keep up the good work! I can only imagine I am but one of hundreds of thousands of people who appreciate your hard work.
I have purchased your eggs in the past but was pleasantly surprised to see you offer butter. I got the unsalted and it actually tastes sweet! Just like I remember on the farm. So pleased with all your products. Keep up the good work!
Living about 50 miles outside of DC metro area, grocery shopping is always problematic inasmuch as we don’t have a Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, etc…. all places where, for the most part, I solely shopped while living in ‘civilization’. But at our local Giant Food, I was delighted to find it carrying your eggs! I wasn’t familiar w/ Vital Farms, but love your mission statement and common-sense approach to being a steward of the land. I’m hopeful that Giant will continue to carry your great product… and next time there, I’ll check to see if they have your butter. Kudos on a great product and, again, sincere thanks for bringing a quality item into this sorely lacking market area.
I want to thank you for loving our animals, a true gift given by God for us to care for them and love them. I am so happy to have found your products. My family and I became vegan two months ago after seeing so much animal cruelty, but I still wanted to be able to buy butter and eggs, but did not want to purchase these from unhealthy sources and knowing that your products are out there for us to purchase made my day!
Just wanted to let you know I am very happy to find your eggs. Our family has a few pet hens and don’t normally purchase eggs, but our girls are older now (and not laying at all at the moment) and I found myself looking to buy eggs at Stop&Shop. After reading several boxes I found your carton. I looked you up on my iphone and jumped in. We are very pleased with the taste and quality of your eggs and even more happy to support a Vital Farms and their commitment to providing hens with a healthy & cruelty-free productive life. We are happy to pay the small premium to purchase your eggs. Keep up the good work!
I just wanted to let you know how great your eggs are. We tried your product on a whim when our usual eggs were out of stock at the local market and they were so much better than what we had been eating! There was a noticeable difference in the color and taste of your eggs. Even our young daughters could taste the difference and now they call your eggs the ‘tasty’ eggs. Thanks for what you do, how you treat animals and the wonderful products that you’ve made available in our store!
The treatment of animals is important to me. When I can I buy eggs from a couple friends who raise chickens. But I lost one of my sources recently and was faced with buying eggs from the store. So I had to do some research on a couple companies, including yours. I want to let you know you have gained a new customer. Thank you for getting rid of the bullshit in the industry. Keep up the good work and you will keep me as a customer.
Just found your butter and I’m sooooo happy! Such a relief. I’ve cut back on my dairy so much because I can’t stand how cows are treated and your butter makes things easier. Yay!!! Happy cows!!!
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your eggs. They had the yellowest golden yolk and were simply delicious. I’m partial to sprinkling just a tiny bit of piri piri spice. I will definitely pick up a dozen on my next trip to the States.
Hi! Just wanted you to know how much I love your eggs! I pay a lot more for yours, but the quality is apparent. Your eggshells are harder. Your whites are clearer. Your yolks are orange instead of pale yellow. I prefer to pay more and know that I’m supporting small family farms that are devoted to ethical treatment of our feathered friends. Thank you for making your products available!
I just wanted to take the time to say “we Love” your eggs. The first time I cracked open an egg and noticed how the color was a dark orange I knew they were going to be delicious. So now these are the only eggs I ever want to buy. I haven’t seen eggs like this since I was a kid………..I’m now 70 years old. Keep up the good work. Very happy and satisfied customer. : )
I have never been happier about eggs than now, since I found your gorgeous egg cartons at Whole Foods recently. I so appreciate how you take care of your girls and that they are happy, healthy and free to roam!! I am now and will always be a loyal customer of Vital Farms eggs!
I recently purchased the alfresco eggs and then after that, I moved up to the organic eggs. I love the eggs! I used to buy eggs at Trader Joes (I think cage free) but realized that cage-free is meaningless. I can’t buy your eggs as often as I’d like (more expensive) but I cut back to get better quality food. Keep up the good work!
If I only ate one egg per month, I probably wouldn’t care if that egg came from a pasture-raised hen or not. But we eat close to 48 eggs per week. That’s a lot! As a result, the nutritional value of each egg makes a significant difference to us. That is why we started buying pastured eggs from Vital Farms. They raise happy hens, they do it in a sustainable manner, and you can see and taste the difference when you crack open one of their eggs. Besides the nutritional benefits, buying pastured eggs is also morally the right thing to do. The animals we raise, the environment we live in and our body deserve to be treated well and the choices we make as consumers directly influence that.
As a result, I highly recommend eggs from Vital Farms, and I don’t see myself going back to those pale yolks we had before.
I don’t have a Twitter or Facebook or any other social media account, but just wanted to let you know how great I think you are for having a flock/flocks of happy hens (I hope) and I love your eggs. I am an old lady now but used to raise my chickens for their eggs and just loved having them and caring for them. Also I think it’s a sweet thing to get a photo of my hen of the week. I always look for her photo when I open my egg carton and the eggs are so much like I remember my own hens giving me. I think you are the best!
Compelled to let you know that your eggs are great! Having 66 years to trod this earth, and around 65 years eating eggs in one form or another, your product is the first that I’ve had where I really see a difference. The texture of the shell and how it cracks, the rich color and size of the yoke, and finally, the taste is uniquely exceptional! So thanks for a great product and I am anxious for my next shopping day to try your butter…..Merry Christmas & Eggceptionally Satisfied
Just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I love your product. The most expensive eggs I have ever bought. But, honestly I don’t mind. I love the way you market the product and the humane treatment of all the ladies. Happy hens equals good product backed by ethical treatment. I especially like the Vital Times…so funny. Congrats on ten years and continued success!
Thank you for taking care of our animals and planet that take care of us!
My Family and I are both excited and proud to support Organic Family Farms through the purchasing your Eggs. -Thank you.
I just wanted to thank you guys for the GREAT EGGS! When I grew up nearly all of the chickens were raised in the pasture, there is a certain taste that comes along with that. Every now and then I’d find someone who knew what real eggs should taste like (mostly people who raised their own for sale). For years I have not tasted that flavor, that is until I got the eggs that y’all produce. Common sense will tell you that if you treat any of Mother Natures’ creatures humanely they’ll behave, live and produce in accordance with the natural order of things… Thanks again keep up the great works!
Thank you for treating the chickens the way you do! I will buy from you from now on. xoxxo Wendy
I have been buying your eggs for over a year at whole foods Orlando, Fl. I just wanted to say I appreciate your eggs and all that you do to make them available to me. I enjoy reading the inserts. It adds a personal touch and that you care. Thank you for the ability to provide my body with exceptional nourishment that is all natural. Thank you for all you do.
God Bless you !!! Finally people who treat animals with dignity, I refuse to eat slaughterhouse meat after seeing the cruel and pathetic conditions these poor animals endure in their short and sad lives, I hope you continue to grow and be the change in the farming industry that needed to happen, after I watched videos about so called humane cow and pig and turkey slaughterhouses, my daughter and myself swore to never patronize another murderhouse and its equally sadistic owners, we have held fast to that and stuck to eating only fish and bison. With the discovery of your carton of eggs I found in fred meyer, we can start eating eggs again 🙂
Yours due to the way you treat your chickens are the only eggs me and my daughter will eat, after we have seen the brutally disgusting conditions that factory farms treat their poor chickens, we had given up all factory anything, we wont support or enable such animal abuse, I have emailed the large companies that I found that participate in this slum lord practice and let them know that as long as they continue to abuse these beautiful creatures, they wont have us as customers, but of your farm eggs, I have told everyone dear to me about yours 🙂 even perfect strangers in the grocery store that are looking at eggs, to support the farm that is doing things the ‘right’ way, and to send the slum lord factory farming animal abusing greedy pigs to their just dessert, people are waking up and FINALLY are wanting to know where their eggs, milk, etc are coming from, and its about TIME! My ex mother in law(even though she tried to drive me insane) loves your eggs and told her fellow broom hildas all about them:) I do wish you would find a better way though to give your chickens you have decided to raise for meat, a better send off from this life, their last moments in this world should not be spent in fear or pain, when I die, I don’t want to see my death coming, its all I hope for 🙂 you are giving them a lovely life, give them an equally fitting end, no pain and most important no fear, fondest wishes 🙂 sushi and vitalfarms eggs for the win 🙂
I’m so thrilled, what a great way to start the year, finding Vital Farms at Whole Foods. I spent a few more minutes looking at the egg carton labels and spotted your company. I can’t tell you enough how happy this makes me…. Maybe if you can show off your profits, other farmers will not be afraid to follow your practices! The eggs look and taste so good too. I pledge to never eat other eggs. I’m a customer for life 🙂 Thank you so much for what you do

I love buying your eggs because of the quality and nutrition as well as the kind treatment of the hens. I was just wondering if any of your farmers take it to the next level and plant special herbs and plants among the fields that are tasty and concentrated in nutrition for the birds such as Borage for instance. Also supplement with organic garden produce, the way a family would toss their flock kitchen scraps and let them pick through the garden when the season is done. Just wondering…the eggs are delicious- closest thing to when we had our own chickens. Thank you!
The Family at Vital Farms, I wanted to thank you and your lovely Girls out in the pasture for my wonderful breakfast this morning! All of your work at through Vital Farms is a huge inspiration to me, and affirms my love and compassion for our friends in responsible agribusiness. Thanks again! Todd
Your eggs remind nothing of what I had growing up, and I’m better for it. I’ve never had better eggs than these, and I’ve shared your one-page leaflets with coworkers and friends. Everyone’s amazed at the taste of these yolks, which can only come from happy hens. I tell them to pay a little extra for the ethics of pasture-raised and for the taste. It’s beyond worth it. I don’t write things like this, but I wanted to thank you. Keep on keepin’ on.
I just have to say that was the best egg i ever ate in my life. I am italian and my mother use to use alot of eggs when she cook she past away. I told my father to have some eggs this morning for breakfast and he love it which make me happy then i made myself some you are doing a great job and the eggs are the best ever.
Just wanted to say I have been purchasing your eggs for some time now and will never buy any other egg. I enjoy the “vital times” in each carton and most important I am so happy to see how the hens are cared for. Best eggs I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work! Please keep them coming. Thank you for being kind to animals.
Thank you so much for your eggs! I was ready to give up on eggs when I saw your eggs at Whole Foods. I just could not justify driving 45 minutes to get to a place where pasture raised eggs were sold. We, in our family, are so grateful to have honest food available to us through Whole Foods and our garden! We will buy Vital Farms eggs as long as we can get access to them.
Hello! I wrote to you all a couple of years ago, when I first discovered your amazing eggs and story. I continue to ONLY buy eggs from Vital Farms for all the reasons we all know already. That said, I felt I should “come clean” and confess to becoming a bit of a nuisance at our local Whole Foods market in Glendale, CA. Whenever I’m there to get my next cartons of VG eggs—and if there’s anyone in that section to purchase eggs—I tell those people, very forthrightly, that the eggs from Vital Farms are simply THE BEST EGGS anywhere! And when I go to check out, and the cashier rings up my VF eggs, I tell the cashier and bagger the same thing—that your eggs are not only the tastiest and most nutritious, but that you folks REALLY do take care of your hens. I worry that some places use “double-speak” to make it appear that they care for their hens, but don’t really. BTW, whenever I mention this to the cashiers, they ALWAYS tell me that other shoppers have told them the same thing! Also, on occasion the store is out of your eggs. This is both the good news (for you) and bad news (for me), but overall, it’s a good thing that people are becoming more aware. Glad to see that you now have a farm in California, though north a bit. Next time I’m up that way visiting family, I’ll see about stopping by for a tour to meet the “girls.” Thanks, again, for what you’re doing! May it continue for a long, long time!!
I went specifically to Whole Foods just to get free range eggs. So glad I found you. (I bought the last 6 cartons.) Loved the newsletter w/photos that led me to your website. Thanks for caring. I’ll be a returning customer.

Hi there, We were so excited to find your product at Mother’s Market and Kitchen. We had stopped buying eggs all together, not wanting to support companies that contribute to such awful living conditions for these animals. So we thank you!
Texas Chicken Ranch Pasture-raised eggs look and taste the way I remember from my childhood. The only thing that would please me more would be to live close enough to your farm to buy them the day they are laid. When Mama sent me to the store for eggs she would say, “Now don’t come back with ‘cold-storage’ eggs. I want fresh ones.” Thank you so much for your pasture-raised eggs!
Hi , I only buy your eggs since I discovered them! So delicious and fresh! I wondered if I could purchase a Vital Farms tee shirt? I work at Whole Foods and like to promote and support my favorite products!
Just wanted to thank you for taking care of the hens. Since I read the Cornucopia.org egg report card, I’ve stopped buying that other brand of organic eggs that didn’t rate nearly as high, and am gladly paying more for eggs made the way nature intended. I’m retired and on a fixed income, but my health and the health and welfare of the planet and its inhabitants are vitally important to me, so I’m willing to pay the extra dollar for your eggs. And they are delicious. Thanks again, and please always stay as beautiful as you are today!
First, I want to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for doing what you’re doing. The eggs are delicious and nutritious, and your humane and compassionate treatment of your fellow earthlings is deeply appreciated. I commend you for taking on the risks of this business model, but you’re doing the right thing and most ‘thinking’ people are behind you. My question is this: do you breed your chickens, on-site, to produce new generations of layers, OR do you obtain them in the mail, from companies that routinely barbarically kill newborn males? You can lie about this, of course. And, you can offer the dubious excuse that you couldn’t possibly keep up with demand if you bred your own. What’s the truth? Thank you in advance for your reply.
I’m a newer customer (on my 2nd dozen) and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you are doing for the chickens and the environment. I don’t care what you charge – just that you continue with your ethical ways. I’m so glad my Whole Foods sells your eggs. You are an amazing example of how the world should be. You give us hope. Oh, and, by the way, the eggs are absolutely fantastic. I have never enjoyed a hard boiled egg so much and I actually love my omelets now.
Hello Vital Farms people, I stumbled into your eggs while shopping at the main Whole Foods downtown. A Whole Foods employee was unloading eggs off of a cart and I saw a box of your eggs there. What caught my eye is that they are from here as I’m very much into the Go Texan/Go Local philosophy and eat non-GMO and organic as much as possible. I took a closer look at the ones in the freezer display and was elated after reading the description on the label. I’ve been searching for a long time for the perfect egg solution since, as yall already know, it’s such a perfect nutrition source, especially per $. I’d previously reluctantly settled for Featherland eggs, another brand whose name escapes me (the eggs come from Mississippi but are distributed by a Texan company as far as I can tell) and the Central Market/HEB “organic” ones but I’m suspecting now that they are at least partly full of crap because the difference in taste between yall’s eggs and … like every other egg I’ve ever tasted is striking. They really do taste buttery. I thought that was just some marketing crap but yall seem to be the Real Deal. I eat eggs raw frequently and I can even taste the difference then. I eat roughly 6 cartons a week. Please keep up the great work and please please don’t sell out to the Monsanto crew if you know what I mean. I will gladly pay the quite reasonable price for your excellent product.
Saw your unique package at Mother’s market yesterday. Always look for cage free. Your packaging clearly showed pride in quality. $5 or even more is a no-brainer bargain to me to have a quality dozen eggs from a caring farmer. Grateful you’re out there. I’ll forward your web site to friends as my bragging rights.
My German Shepard loves your eggs, they make her coat beautiful (she gets an egg once a day with her food). My girls also love your eggs. I love them too but I don’t eat eggs, never have. I am a vegetarian. Thanks for taking such good care of your hens. I buy nothing else.
I noticed your eggs when I was at Whole Foods. I was looking through the egg case and noticed two different labels “cage-free”, which is what I typically buy and then I saw your label “pasture-raised”. It made me realize the cage-free eggs I was buying for so long may not be as “humane” as I thought they were. I Its nice to see that you let your birds roam and eat their natural diet. I admire your company’s ethical practices and can say I am spreading the word to all of my friends and family about finding your pasture raised eggs and chickens when they shop. Thank you!
Only once before in my adult life have I seen an egg with a yolk as yellow-orange as my first egg from my first dozen Backyard Eggs. It was Sienna, Italy 2001. What a special treat to have a real egg for a change! Henceforward, your eggs will be the only eggs I purchase! Can’t wait to get into the remainder of the dozen. I think I’ll make some Scotch eggs tomorrow.
I learned about your eggs from daughter who buys them in Las Vegas. I live in Oklahoma City. We now have a new WHOLE FOODS. We would love to start buying your eggs. Keep up the ethical work….It is amazing.
Thank you for treating the chickens with respect. I really love these animals and the videos of how they are treated in those big factories is horrible. I love your eggs!!! Thank you for caring:)
Hey Guys! What a tasty and great looking eggs! I got the eggs at Whole foods boca raton FL. I will check out the fluffy scrambled … https://vitalfarms.com/how-to-cook/fluffy-scrambled-eggs/. Cheers.
I LOVE your eggs!! I’m about to head to Miami for 4 months and hope I can find you at the local Whole Foods there. Thank you, Sarah
Hello Vital Farms, I just wanted to reach out and tell you that I love what you do! My husband and I are vegetarians and rely on your healthy, delicious eggs for B12 and protein. We only buy your eggs and have been eating them since you’ve been supplying the West Hollywood Whole Foods. I’d love if you could send some coupons for your dozens cartons. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing you in Ralph’s! Best of luck as you grow!
Thought when I traveled to Houston, I wouldn’t be able to find yard eggs like my neighbor in Maine supplies. What a delight when I found your golden-yolked firm-whited eggs. Thanks for the happy surprise.
Love the eggs! Best scrambled eggs ever!
My name is Sandra. We buy organic and vegetarian whenever we can. But, we are college students with two young children. My husband is an ecology major and I am undecided, but lean in that direction. We have raised our children to be very conscious of their food choices and all their choices really as everything we do has an impact on the world. It has been years since we have eaten eggs. We avoid (but do not fanatically exclude) eggs and egg products because we have been unable to find a close to us, affordable, source. Tonight my husband and I went to Whole Foods. Not a norm to us as it is cost prohibitive to shop there. I cried (no seriously, with tears) when I saw your eggs on the shelf. THANK YOU. Thank you for doing what you love and sharing it with others. Thank you for making it possible for me to offer eggs to my family again. Thank you for valuing the lives of the creatures that share our planet. So excited to support ya’ll! We’ll spread the word!
Thank you for your eggs. I am just a happy customer who gets migraines from any chicken product that is not pasture-fed. I am now migraine free, thanks to your eggs. Even organic eggs were not sufficient to manage the migraines. Please keep on doing whatever it is you’re doing. I eat four of your eggs day (for months) and my chloresterol levels were some of the best my doctor has ever seen. Not bad for someone who’s not a spring chicken anymore. Please keep me in mind if you ever start selling any pasture-fed chicken meats online
Hello! I absolutely love your eggs! At Mother’s Market in Huntington Beach, I’ve been purchasing an average of 15-18 dozen of your “Alfresco” eggs each month for quite a while now, as they are my main source of protein. On a typical day, I have four over-easy eggs for breakfast and 3-4 hard boiled eggs throughout the rest of the day. While the nutrition benefits for me have been absolutely amazing, it’s a bit steep on my wallet. I believe in what you guys do, and so I am stubborn against buying cheaper, non-pasture raised eggs. So far, at $5.49/dozen, the Alfresco eggs are the least expensive pasture raised eggs I’ve found. I saw on your website that you don’t have home delivery, but I wanted to email anyway about wholesale pricing, considering the amount of eggs I purchase each month. Thanks again for your consideration. Any sort of solution you might be able to provide, even some sort of arrangement at Mother’s would be such a huge help! Thank you.
I bought your eggs two days ago from the Whole Foods in New York, and I immediately tasted a difference! With so many “organic eggs” on the market it’s difficult to distinguish the real from the fake. Vital Farms eggs taste amazing and it feels good knowing that the chickens that lay these eggs are given humane treatment. Thank you for such an amazing product!
I just bought a dozen of your Alfresco Eggs…..love the idea and love the carton but most of all I love the fact that these eggs came from happy hens. I only wish all eggs were produced this way. Thank you
Thank you for your ethics and your products! It is important for our family to be respectful and reverent towards all life. We love and also believe in what you love and believe! THANK YOU!
I have been buying organic and “cage free” eggs for a long time and was delighted to find your eggs at Whole Food Market. When we tried them, we were very happy with the wonderful taste and beautiful, orange yolk. Very much like what we’ve enjoyed in Europe, where we found the eggs and chicken to be so much more tasty than their U.S. counterparts. Now that I’ve read your story and watched your videos, I wanted to thank you for the way you treat your hens and the outstanding eggs you and they produce. Natural is better. Period
It truly brought a tear to find your eggs at WF. This is a dream in terms of TOTALLY humane treatment. If one is to eat an egg, and I rarely do, but now I will more often, I will ONLY if I find yours at the market. Money is not an object when humane treatment is concerned. Namaste.
I love your eggs. They are the best tasting eggs available, and I feel good buying them and supporting your family farms. Keep up the good work.
I have been on a mission to find the best tasting eggs. I bought Egglands Best for years but after trying Alfresco I think my mission is over now. I tried all of Whole Foods and they were just ok. Clearly there is a difference between yours and other brands, in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Hello!! I just wanted to tell you all how happy we are to have found Vital Farms eggs. While they are a little more expensive, seeing the videos of your chickens compared to the horrible conditions we’ve seen documented at other facilities makes the additional investment (in our health and theirs) 100% worth it. We will look forward to trying your broilers when they are available at our local Whole Foods! Thanks for all you do :).
I’m writing to tell you how much I love your packaging. I feel so good buying your eggs and I love the feel and look of your packaging. We always read the “Vital News”. I also really appreciate that you have such a great egg that tastes good at a reasonable price compared to other pasture eggs. All these factors combine to make these eggs my favorite grocery purchase!!
Hello. I was soooo glad to finally find pasture raised eggs at whole foods in IL. Nobody had it before. I bought organic and non GMO version. They both were absolutely wonderful, from the taste and of course bright orange color. It for sure reminded me my childhood in Europe eggs from my grandma’s farm. I know that color shows that they are really eating grass.
First of all, thank you for providing these eggs to Whole Foods in Naperville. I love them! I decided to stop buying eggs if I could not find humanely raised ones in our area, until I discovered these. I would love to take my children to visit if possible so that they can see where there eggs come from and help me support my decision to pay a premium for eggs from chickens treated properly.
I just wanted to say thank you! I stopped eating eggs because I was horrified by the conditions, and it’s reassuring to know that there are companies out there that care. There needs to be more companies like you!
by fare the finest eggs i have ever purchased in the America s .i have only tasted eggs like that when i lived in the country side of england ,i was given theses eggs by a friend as i bake a lot , also ex master chef. thanks once again for super product ,it has spoil t me for all the other brands .KEEP THE GOOD WORK UP
I only buy your eggs from whole foods. They are the only brand sold there that are organic and pasture raised. Nutrition Smart doesn’t carry them. thank you for supplying us with your good eggs and for being so humane to your animals!
I just bought my first box of your eggs at a local Whole Foods, and am writing for two distinct reasons. I want to thank you for taking care of laying hens as they should be cared for. Once upon a time, I had a very small flock that provided wonderful eggs for my family. Of course, they had complete access to the outdoors from sunrise to sunset, only closed up at night to keep them safe from foxes. I know what eggs from healthy hens look like, and I know what fresh eggs look like, and yours are both.
Thank you for providing these lovely eggs. This is the first time in my life that I have opened a carton and seen eggs that all look different! Even as a science/medical person, I was struck by the fact that, of course!, it makes much more sense to have variation in nature. My fiancée and I have had to cut back our budget in order to eat food products that are in their most natural form. It is unfair that most Americans cannot afford to buy – not only organic, but ethical products. Beyond that, despite our best attempts to be good consumers, the information that we are given in the grocery store is muddled. Cage free, free range, etc. all sounds good… and a dozen eggs for $1.50 can make you forget all of that. Hopefully with more documentaries, like Farmageddon, public awareness will increase and ethical eggs will be the rule and not the exception.
I was very disappointed recently to find out the ‘cage-free, organic’ eggs I was buying were more than likely from factory farmed hens living in cramped spaces, with a horrible quality of life. I can’t tell you how pleased I was to come across your youtube video. Thank you for giving me peace of mind that I can now buy eggs and know that the hens are treated well, and I am getting a quality product. Whole Foods will be my only store for eggs from here on out! Thank you for what you do!
I was very happy when I discovered your website and read about the ethical way your chickens were treated. Even more happy when I read on your website that Whole Foods in Ann Arbor, MI carried your eggs.
I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE VITAL FARMS. The eggs are the best, absolutely nothing compares. We have just moved from Boulder, CO to Orange, CA and I was so concerned that I wouldn’t be able to have Vital Farms’ eggs. As luck would have it the Whole Foods in my area carries them!!!!!! THANK YOU.
I’ve been enjoying your eggs for 2 yrs! So happy to hear about the broilers! Send some south. Better yet, I bet you can find some Alabama farmers willing to raise chickens this way. Thanks to the organization Grow Alabama, many local organic small farms are coming back now that they have a venue to sell their produce. We need the same for chicken, beef, etc. Can’t wait to taste a broiler!! thanks for all the work.- Paula
I really admire your company and our family has been buying Vital Farms eggs for over a year now (at Whole Foods).
I really admire your company and our family has been buying Vital Farms eggs for over a year now (at Whole Foods). I was wondering about the fate of hens once they are no longer capable of laying eggs–do they face human slaughter or do they go to a typical slaughter house? I know you are doing what you can to make their lives better, but it would be great if they weren’t slaughtered–for meat– at all. Thanks for your time.
I wrote to you some time back praising your eggs and complaining about your plastic packaging. I feel so strongly about the damage plastic is doing to our environment, I stopped buying your wonderful eggs for that reason. I was therefore delighted to see you are now using cardboard packaging – and I am once again buying your wonderful eggs. I just read on your website about your broiler chickens, and I will try those as well. Thank you for your ethical approach to providing eggs and chicken I can feel good about purchasing and eating.
We have some egg farms around here but none get the excellent ratings that you do, as shown at www.cornucopia.org. I buy only your eggs for my family. I want truly free range chickens, humanely treated, provided with sunshine and good, non-GMO foods. Your eggs fit that bill totally. Thank you for your continued efforts to keep our egg supply healthy and free of those nasty GMOs. Animals need our respect for what they provide. I wish you a long and prosperous future doing the right thing.
We love your eggs and your mission! Any possibility of having broiler chickens available in northern Virginia sometime soon?
Thank you so much for raising your chickens with dignity and humanely. I found your eggs at Whole Foods in San Rafael, California. I will never buy another brand of eggs but yours as I wish to only purchase my foods from those who approach food production in the manner that you do. BTW – the eggs ARE delicious!
Thank you so much for raising your chickens with dignity and humanely. I found youreggs at Whole Foods in San Rafael, California. I will never buy another brand of eggs but yours as I wish to only purchase my foods from those who approach food production in the manner that you do. BTW – the eggs ARE delicious!
Thanks for all that you do! I fully trust you guys! And that… is an awesome feeling!
Was first attracted to your packaging. There are several options for organic eggs at Whole Foods. But your eggs won my heart …….”108 square feet per lucky lady!” That told me instantly that your hens were pasture raised, the way hens ought to be. Then I visited your website to learn more. I have to admit, I am not an egg lover but I do use them in baking and my daughter loves scrabbled eggs. I feel your product is a healthier one for her growing body and is so much better for our environment. I often share your carton inserts with friends. Keep up the great work! I pray other conventional egg layers are inspired to make a change and raise hens the way you do.
My family and I are grateful for the highest quality, whole-nature, cared for food!!
Keep doing what you’re doing. What you do is extremely important. I don’t mind paying extra for the eggs to help ensure the welfare and good life your birds are having. Thanks for making a difference!
Thank You, from the depth of my heart for being kind to chickens, I can’t tell you how much those videos make me cry, seeing the birds free, happy, the way god meant it to be for all creatures. I support many petitions to stop animal abuse. There has to be a better way and you are doing just that. I buy your eggs, I don’t care if they cost more, I want to know the chickens that laid them are healthy and happy. I wish they would find a more humane way of killing chickens to feed the overwhelming populous. Mass slaughter is cruel because the workers are pushed to move faster, so they become hardened, and often abusive to the frightened birds. It breaks my heart, I pray for our animals. We all have to try to find a more humane way for all our animals. Thank you for the care you take.
Thank you for the info and coupons on the Alfresco Eggs. I’m very happy to have your brand in our sets!
Hello! This is to let you know I consider your eggs absolutely the best. Thank you. I discovered them at a Whole foods store in Ohio. I live most of the year in Juneau, Alaska and, unfortunately, nobody carries your eggs. I would appreciate if you could find a way to get your eggs to this part of the world. Edit
I have an allergy to soy and I was wondering if your eggs are soy-free? I have been religiously buying your eggs for quite some time now and I love them. Do you have any coupons?
Wow! Your eggs are the best I’ve ever tasted. I can actually taste the difference in each egg. I totally can appreciate that the hens are organic, free range and grass fed. I finally found my brand. If you ever close shop tell me and I’ll keep it going! Keep up the good work!
I’m in LOVE with your new packaging! Looks great! !
Your “chickey girls” are very talented. After two dozen of your wonderful eggs, I salute all of you. Thanks for the great treat. My five year old grandson said, “hey, these eggs are yellow.” Please keep up the good work …I’ll keep buying your great eggs with pleasure. With appreciation and smiles,
Hello! I recently came upon your product at my local Whole Foods store, and immediately came home and researched your process and the steps you take to ethically pasture-raise your chickens. I have not eaten eggs in quite some time because of dietary issues, but would like to make them a part of my daily diet again, but only if they are ethically, organically raised.
Thanks for treating your hens humanely… I fully support your brand and have been buying your eggs for the past two months or so (since I made the conscious effort to look for humanely raised hens). All it takes is another dollar or two to buy Vital Farms eggs over a huge egg factory brand, and I feel SO much better about my decision! Why not spend a little more and support a healthy hen, and a local farmer?! Your egg yolks are a beautiful color, and are SO much tastier: fluffier when scrambled and creamier when poached. mmmmm.
Dear Vital Farms, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for producing eggs in a humane, animal centered, and loving way. My husband and I were on the verge of giving up eggs completely because we did not/ could not trust that the animals were treated humanely. We were so happy to find Vital Farms Eggs at Whole Foods in Scottsdale. Please, continue your mission to treat animals ethically and lovingly, and we will continue to buy your (and only your) eggs. We are happy to pay the extra cost to ensure that farming remains just that… farming. Keep up the good work. Melissa
I just want to tell you that I admire your commitment to providing ethical eggs. I had not eaten an egg for 8 years. We bought some of your Vital Farms eggs a couple of day ago and my 4 year old had his first egg. I felt very reassured knowing that they came from birds that were treated humanely (raised happily in the sun and pasture) and fed well. Thank you, Melissa
Hi I was wondering if I can get some coupons for your products? I travel an hour away to buy your eggs since I live in a small town and don’t have much selection. I feel coupons will help me be able to continue to purchase your wonderful products. Thanks so much!
I bought your eggs today and found them to be delicious. I checked your website and looked at your crew, only to be shocked that you had no lady representing the chickens…I sure woudda liked to see the pretty face of them chicks.
Hello – I love buying your eggs and reading your “vital times” articles that you place inside the cartons 🙂 This month’s edition asked if we have any eggs-tra special egg recipes that we’d like to share and I have a great one for hard boiled eggs! I used to always find a gray ring around the yolk of hard boiled eggs whenever I’d make them, but this way of cooking them completely eliminates that! Each egg comes out with a perfect yolk, and your eggs taste so delicious and creamy this way! Thanks so much for offering us grass fed organic eggs. All of your customers really appreciate the care you take with your animals and it comes through in how delicious the eggs taste 🙂 I love reading about the “bird of the month” and think it is so great that the girls have such a great life. Keep doing what you do!
Hi Vital Farms, I found your eggs just this week while in Whole Foods in the Los Angeles Fairfax Distract. Vital Farms will now be getting my business from here on out, and I’ll be giving your broiler chickens a try soon too. Thanks for conducting business the right way.
Thank you for what you do. I am so appreciative that there are folks like you to counter the factory farms. Blessings!
I was first of all was so happy to see chickens that deserve the best of care in order to produce beautiful quality eggs. I was also drawn to you packaging right away. But the little note inside was so cool. Good for you. Keep up your mission and I will be looking forward to purchasing more of your eggs. Give those little chickens a pet for me… :):)
Thank you for answering my note, and thank you for the information! I am learning that I have to be mindful of what is put in my food. Unfortunately there are many who do not care to treat humans or animals with respect. It is wonderful to know that you do not feed your chickens any GMO products. I admire Vital Farms and all farmers who work hard to provide good quality, healthy food for the community while treating animals humanely. I am very grateful!!
I can’t thank you enough for producing these wonderful eggs. I always buy your brand, now that I know the difference between real pasture-raised hens and what is normally referred to as “cage-free” (doesn’t that mean something like 100 hens get to walk around on a 4 x 8′ concrete pad a few hours a day ? 😉 At any rate, I am really grateful to you folks for your conscientious care of your hens, happy to pay the extra price and very glad to know my eggs come from truly happy hens. It makes a huge difference.
My daughter and another girl in her close circle of friends are both vegetarian and gave me info on chickens and the industry. The next time I was at Whole Foods here in Santa Monica I looked for something better than cage-free and found YOU!!! I’m so happy you are here! Thanks, m.
Dear Mr. O’Hayer, Just a short note to say thanks for bringing a truly organic and ethically produced egg to the market. I am so grateful for the chance to enjoy an egg from a hen that has been able to thrive as a chicken should. No debeaking – no hormones and plenty of fresh air and sun. You have a customer for life. Mark
Just picked up some of your eggs for the first time. They are truly the best eggs I have ever eaten. Keep up the great work! Thanks.
First, let me thank you for having such great hens who give such great eggs. I am looking at the last dozen I purchased and see Petunia, the foraging NCal ISA Hen. It is so fine that you take time to include these little notices. It is a good feeling.
congratulations for all your efforts to bring to us consumers a super product knowing that you are loving what you do and act in the most responsible manner taking care of your hens. loved the other side joke from two silly chickens…. continued on the path of love and integrity.
Your eggs have always been perfect and taste delicious.
thank you so much for puting your hart for rasing this beautifulchickens it worthet every penny.
I try to buy organic as much for the animals as I do for my own health benefit. Thank you for raising your animals the “old” way, the way it should always be done. I am fortunate enough (and there is only two of us now) to be able to pay $6 a dozen. I hope enough farmers transition to our way of thinking so more families can afford to eat the healthy and humane way.
I found you at Whole Foods and though you are kind of expensive I will totally support you and your efforts to raise happy chickens. Thank you so much! Edit
I just recently came across your eggs at the Whole Foods store in Paramus, NJ and wanted to thank you. I have been searching for humane eggs where the chickens are treated with respect and able to roam and forage as they should. Spending my summers in Chile where my grandmother had chickens I was able to experience natural eggs and saw the way chickens really should live and be treated. I have found my forever eggs!
Thank you for your dedication to responsible, ethical farming and sustainable environmental practices. My family is grateful to be able to purchase such delicious, healthy eggs.
Thank you for creating such wonderful eggs, and for showing everyone that kindness to the animals that feed us is essential for a happy and peaceful world.
I’m a vegetarian because I disagree with the inhumane treatment of animals at slaughter houses. With that said I still eat eggs and am very conscience of who I purchase eggs from making sure the chickens are cage free and roam free. I use to purchase Chino Valley Ranchers until I found out that their chickens actually don’t roam free as indicated on their container. Once I found that out I did extensive research of which farm actually did honor the roam free and I found your farm. I want to thank you for taking such good care of your chickens and giving them a clean, safe and roam free environment. I can actually taste the difference in the eggs. Your eggs taste so much better. Happy Holidays. Thank you again. Sincerely, Lisa
I cannot begin to thank you for giving us such wonderful and fabulous eggs! It’s so nice to know that you treat your hens so humane….and it shows in the product that is produced! When I saw that gorgeous orange yolk, I knew it was going to be a superb tasting egg…and I was right! I purchase 2 dozen of your eggs each week. The taste of your eggs is like night and day from the previous “cage free” organic eggs I was buying. I love the color variation from egg to egg….even the size difference….so cool! Please keep up the great work! I’m a consumer for life…I’m hooked! I hope Whole Foods will always carry your eggs because I will never go back to cage free! Thank you!!!
Dr. Mercola’s website led me to your website. I have eaten eggs all my life not giving any thought to the quality. Eggs are eggs, I thought. I truly believed I was eating quality organic eggs for many years now, after reading Dr. Mercola’s email I was not too surprised, not many things surprise me or shock me any more. God’s Word says, that everything concealed will be revealed; I just wish I had known sooner.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL EGGS! I AM SO THRILLED YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHICKENS. IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT PAVE THE ROAD FOR A BETTER PLANET. AGAIN, I THANK YOU SO MUCH.
We’d been looking for a company that provided Humane Certified eggs & found you guys! Now we only buy your eggs. Thank you for treating the ‘feathery girls’ the way you do:) Thank you for the great eggs. Do you ever give tours? Would it be possible to visit your farm sometime? Thank you again!
I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks …. I have recently chosen to become a vegetarian..as a Texan that is a difficult task.. In the land of BBQ cook offs and tailgating there is a lot of “why”??.. My choice was personal..health reasons but that went hand In Hand with the inhumanity and cruelty in the animal processing industry. I am so glad that I have the choice of being an Ovo-vegetarian thanks to the kindness from your company in raising your “happy hens”. I just really appreciate the option that you have given me, and that y’all appreciate the lives of these birds. Wow that really sounds like a tree hugger!!. I now have a choice at my local Kroger instead of buying Yard eggs at the feed store where quantities are really limited. Thanks again. You really are doing a GOOD thing and you can taste it… 🙂 Ps. Love the newsletter in Each container!!
Just wanted to send you (and the girls!!) a thumbs up for your declicious eggs. We happened upon them a few weeks ago at Jimbo’s and they are absolutely delicious. We’re so glad someone is producing tasty, healthful eggs and treating their chickens with love and respect. More power to you all.
I have never emailed a company before but had to tell you how much I LOVE your eggs. I go especially to Whole Foods just to buy your eggs. I can’t even buy other eggs, yours have so much flavor the yolks are such a beautiful color. Thank you for making my breakfast such a pleasure every morning. My best, Laura
Been reading much about “organic” farming and how the FDA allows organic farmers to abuse animals and mislead consumers. I stopped eating eggs a while back because I couldn’t find a source I trusted. Went into Maddys Market in Calabasas, CA and found your eggs. Been on your website for an hour. THANK YOU. Can’t wait to try the eggs tonight but LOVE what you stand for. You set a fantastic example of what farming should be. I am a huge fan. I will tell everyone I know about your farm and wish you continued success. Edit
Hi, I buy your eggs at Mother’s Market in Laguna Woods, CA. I also buy them when I am down in laguna Beach, at Whole Foods. I thought you’d like to update your website, showing that they are not just in Whole Foods in California. In fact, Mother’s market worked with our local vegetarian/humane ministry at our church, and we gave out eggs in half dozens and info about your farm. This is how I first heard of you. Now I tell everyone, and got the whole foods in laguna to start carrying the dozen boxes, instead of half dozen. Are there any other markets locally that carry your eggs? I wrote to Trader Joes too, cause they are everywhere, but haven’t heard back from them. Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks!!!! I am a vegetarian(almost vegan) mostly because I cant stand the way we treat our animals in this world. I am not opposed to the food chain…it’s natural right? It is natural only when is it done naturally. I am so happy to introduce eggs into my diet again with your eggs. I can honestly eat one and enjoy it, knowing that these beautiful creatures are being treated like the sentient beings that they are. I will tell everyone about these eggs. I wish you such success for you and yours! Namaste
just wanted to thank you for the nice video. I just shared it with my young kids. now they can understand that their eggs come from living, feeling creatures that deserve humane treatment, just like any living creature.
Thank you for providing a truly humane and healthy option for eggs!!! I wanted to point out that your amazing egg locator isn’t working quite right for Boise, ID. When you search for locations in Boise, the map shows the address for the Boise Coop, but has the name “Briarpatch Community Market” which appears to actually be in California. Anyway, here’s hoping that some day ALL eggs will be produced this way, and God Bless you all.
I am a food scientist and licensed nutritionist And I have been enjoying your wonderful eggs very much. Thank you for doing such a good job. They taste better than my grandmother’s yard eggs. Today at Whole Foods in Baton Rouge the egg display was empty of all of your eggs except for a few 6 packs. I have been wishing the best for the girls in the face of the drought and heat. I hope everything is OK. I do like those eggs.
Hello Vital Farms, Eggs have always been my favorite food, I used to eat them by the carton. But when I found out that I was allergic to eggs and couldn’t eat them without severe arthritis in my back, I had to quit eating eggs. I stopped eating eggs about 18 years ago. I seen your eggs in the store and I just had to try them. Low and behold!! no Arthritis, the way you raise your Chickens and what you feed them has made the difference for me. I buy your eggs on a regular basis now.
Dear Vital Farms, My boyfriend and I love your eggs. I previously worked on a chicken farm and through your eggs was able to convince my boyfriend that not all eggs are created equal. He now only buys your eggs, or if they’re sold out, only pasture-raised eggs. Your pamphlet of Vital Times had me laughing out loud when I first saw it. When I was farming I knew the name of every one of my birds and their personality and loved your “Bird of the Month” feature. But dear Lucy has been bird of the month since December! Can we have some new Bird of the Months? Or Bird of the Quarter? Eggfully yours! Edit
Hi! I first wanted to thank you for your efforts and for providing not only healthy food for the consumer but, also, responsible care for the chickens. I have been purchasing your eggs for a short time but have just now gone to your site for more info thanks to your clever little insert in my carton. 🙂 I enjoyed your thoughtful blogs and info. I thought you might want to know that your “About Us” page needs proofing. You have a portion that is repeated 3 times. 🙂 Thanks again for your commitments to excellence. It’s companies like yours that truly serves our communities in a meaningful way. Your customer. 🙂
I couldn’t remember if I actually sent you an email previously, or just thought about it, but in any case I wanted to be sure and send you a message about how wonderful your eggs are. They are absolutely the best eggs I’ve ever bought in a supermarket (Whole Foods). I used to live in the country and we had chickens and I learned then how much better REAL eggs are. I still have a friend or two that I can occasionally get fresh yard eggs from, but it is so nice to have a regular source for superior eggs! I just can’t get enough of them, and I’m so happy that your chickens are also happy and healthy and living a good life. THANK YOU for doing what you’re doing! I believe this type of food production is our future. Wishing you all the best for continued success in 2014!
Hello Vital Farms! I just wanted to tell you that I discovered your eggs while living in New England about 4 years ago. I knew I would be moving to the Pacific Northwest (where I am now) and didn’t know if I would ever be able to eat your eggs again! So I called you up to see if your eggs were in Seattle. At the time, they weren’t! But the gentleman on the phone said that they would be sold at Whole Foods he hoped in another year. And sure enough, about a year after living here I went into a Whole Foods and found your wonderful eggs! I am SO happy I can continue to eat them. They have the brightest orange yolks of any eggs around which tells me your chickens are healthy and happy living their life on a pasture. Thank you for not feeding them GMO corn or GMO soy. That is very important to me as a consumer, an advocate of the organic movement, and as a student of nutrition. Many thanks again for taking such good care of your hens and producing the best eggs around.
Yes, your eggs are delicious!! Thanks!!
I love your eggs!!! I only recently discovered them at Whole Foods in Franklin, TN. They are – by FAR – the BEST – eggs I’ve ever eaten! I’ve tried so many other egg brands – organic, free range, etc… They don’t even compare to Vital Farms eggs… Plus, I appreciate and desire to support the humane, “old-fashioned” farming way you raise your chickens…. as they should be… the difference can be tasted – and the treatment does matter very much to me. You’re a leader in this industry. Please continue to maintain the high standards! Thank you!!
I have backyard chickens but when I do need to buy extra eggs I buy Vital Farms. I am working to educate people about factory farms and encourage them to buy your eggs (we have them at Basic Foods). I am in the Austin area at times visiting my son and would love to visit sometime. I will call to schedule a visit next time I am in the area.
Just wanted to say thank you for making it possible for us to have pasture-raised eggs. We purchase them at Mother’s Market in California and have also thanked them for making them available. Keep up the good work; you are helping us stay healthy. God bless.
My Whole Foods was out of your free-range organic eggs today and told me that you are totally out of stock! I hope this is a very temporary thing. I eat 2 of your eggs a day (at least) and so does my husband. We need 2 or more dozen a week with all the added ones needed for paleo baking. My fingers are crossed that they will be there next time. 🙂
First of all, thank you for providing wonderful ethical and organic eggs. I stopped eating eggs for quite awhile while I was on the pursuit for a quality organic egg. During my search, I discovered your eggs. Your eggs are the only ones that I will eat. Our city opened up a Whole Foods Mkt in Oct. I was excited to be able to purchase your eggs locally as we used to travel from OK to TX every so many months to buy the eggs and other items. The last time I bought your eggs was just before Thanksgiving(6 dozen for 6.49 each). My family and friends thought that I was crazy to spend that much. I thought I was a little crazy at that time as well. When WFoods opened, we purchased several for 4.49 per dozen which was expected and something we can afford. I believe that we have to spend more money to eat better.
Hi there! just wanted to tell you YOUR EGGS ARE AMAZING!! I don’t mind paying more for them as they are super fresh. I travel to Europe a bunch and they taste like those types of eggs. I like Petunia and she is a “great layer!” What sold me about your product is the newsletter. FOR Real. In fact, when I was picking up your eggs I told the lady next to me that these were the best. If you stop selling at HEB please let me know where to buy them in Houston! A Fan!
Just wanted to thank you for a good product. For us, the very best part is that you treat your hens humanely, as it should be. As long as you continue to do so, we’ll be your forever fans.
I started buying your eggs a few months ago. I wanted to thank you for the whole package from the care of your chickens to the environment. I probably would not be eating eggs now if not for you. As a bonus, the eggs are the best I’ve eaten ever. I love everything about the way you do business. Keep it up and thank you so much!
We love our Vital Eggs because of their rich flavor and healthy benefits. They are a regular staple of our breakfast.
I found out about your eggs from the certifiedhumane.org website, and made a special trip over to Whole foods to pick them up. I had been buying Trader Joes free-range eggs, but I prefer Certified Humane products, because you just never know how accurate the labeling on these things are. So from now on I will be buying your product. P.S. your eggs are delicious! :).
i’ve been having to go to a different store for my eggs until i discovered your eggs at Earthfare!
Hi Crew. I saw your eggs at Whole Foods and thought, given the price, I need to look you guys up online to see what merited the cost. Wow! Pasture-raised chickens. What a concept! I immediately turned around after watching your video and bought a dozen. I will gladly pay your price for the eggs and support your cause until such time that we eliminate the horrible and inhumane conditions under which chickens are raised for the consumption of inexpensive eggs. Thanks for restoring my belief that there is hope for a better world!
My wife bought you eggs today at Whole Foods. Your methods remind me of those we practice on our family farm in Tennessee when I was a young lad. Thank you. I look forward to my first dining with them……. 😀
Thank you so very much for giving us such excellent eggs. In today’s factory farm world it is especially good that you are doing this. We love your eggs (buy them in Whole Foods).
I have not eaten eggs regularly for many years, even organic free range and certified organic farmer’s market eggs. I experience health problems from eggs and did not think I could eat them. Every time I would try again, I would react. After trying one of your eggs, I did not notice any problems as I expected I would. I have a corn allergy and perhaps your hens don’t eat a lot of corn as some others do due to having “greener pastures”. The eggs I have been buying are your organic pasture raised. Thank you for producing a healthy product.
First of all, a bit THANK YOU for bringing your humanely raised eggs to a local store. Do you do any advertising, to spread the word to those with access to your eggs? You need not reply if doing so interferes with taking care of your girls, as mainly I wanted you to know how pleased I am to ‘meet’ your farmers and say thank you for what you have brought together.
You can always taste the difference when something is made with love. I can tell by the taste that these eggs are from chickens raised with love and care <3
Hi There! I just love your eggs! I noticed in the most recent dozen that I bought that you are looking for recipes to maybe include in a calendar or just to share with folks. My favorite way to cook Vital Farms eggs right now is in a modified version of Shakshuka, an Israeli poached egg dish that stars eggs and tomatoes. The dish is traditionally eaten for breakfast, but I have combined a few different recipes to bulk it up a bit and it makes a fantastic dinner or brunch dish as well!
Hi! I found your eggs at my local Whole Foods in Hillcrest, CA (San Diego county) after seeing your five egg rating at cornucopia.com. Thank-you!!
Yum, you guys! Keep those yolks orange. Luv em!
Hi! Please don’t think this is crazy… but… living in Chicago.. I have easy access to your eggs via Whole Foods.. and they are the ONLY eggs I’ll eat. Here’s my problem.. uh oh.. I am going home for Christmas.. and my family lives in a crazy rural area.. no where near any store that would sell your product. Do you ever consider mailing your eggs to personal addresses? I did see the order form.. but the quantity would be far and above how much my family would consume before probable expiration of product…. Help! I just love your eggs!!!!
Hello! Just need to let you guys know these are the BEST eggs I have EVER, EVER eaten. I’m so glad I can find them at my Whole Foods. I can taste the happiness!
I have a question for you. I had given up eggs months ago because of the cruelty that those animals endure. I love and miss eating eggs, but I will not support that type of farming with my money. I was very, very excited to see that there is a humane option out there. I am more than happy to pay 3-4x the price of regular eggs knowing that no living thing has to suffer so that I can have a tasty meal.
I LOVE these eggs. I love the little flyer in each dozen, I love how good they taste, how easily they peel…I love the lovely ladies who lay these eggs. But the last few times I’ve been unable to find them at my local HEB. Should I start bombarding their corporate office? I just cannot eat other eggs now…I feel guilty and disappointed when I do. Sometimes I buy your eggs even when I don’t really “need” eggs just to support your ladies, and I always find something delicious to make with them. But…Where are they? I’ll change grocers if I need to. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you for going the extra mile! It means so much to be to feel comfortable eating your eggs knowing that they are a gift to us. We all have a place here on earth, a right to dignity and respect. Thank you again
I just came home with a dozen of your eggs. I usually buy eggs at the Farmers Market from a local farm where the chickens are pasture raised, but I can’t get there as often as I would like and stress over which eggs to buy at the regular market. I know that “cage free” means almost nothing when it comes to buying cruelty free eggs. I am a vegetarian and don’t believe in supporting a system that is cruel to animals. I saw your eggs at my local Pavilions and when I read the carton and the little information card I loved your story. I came home to look at your farm on the web and admire what you are doing. I plan on letting all my friends and family know about your eggs and will encourage them to buy them. Thank you for not only respecting our planet but for respecting the lives of our animal friends.
Hey there! Wanted to let you know that I recently bought your eggs and truly love the taste. My daughter is not a egg eater but she said how good there were!!
I love that you offer eggs from hens that are treated humanely. I’ve always thought that fertile eggs are the best because I assume it means the hens are able to live with roosters. As a woman, I would have a very sad life if I weren’t able to be with men! So I feel like if I’m going to buy eggs, I want to know that the chickens who laid them were able to live with roosters. I also understand that fertile eggs are more nutritious. Do you offer fertile eggs? Do your hens live alongside roosters? If not why not? Thanks for making the world a better place~
Hi – we love your eggs and love being able to buy eggs from chickens living the good life.
I buy your eggs because I want to know they come from naturally raised chickens. That is worth paying extra as far as I am concerned.
Hello Vital Farms – I am writing to say that I tried your eggs and they are amazing! I used to live in Austin before moving to Virginia but I missed out on finding you guys before I moved here. You can definitely taste a difference in the eggs from Vital Farms. I am also thrilled. that you use non GMO feed and raise your hens humanely. I think what the company stands for is exactly what I look for in all of my food sources. Quality and humane treatment for animals. I was wondering if you offer any coupons towards your products so that I can continue purchasing them.
I was shopping recently. One lady gave me a dozen eggs and she told the cashier, “It’s free”. She told me that she’s working for Vital farms. Yesterday my husband and I enjoyed those beautiful eggs; it is so tasty – just like our childhoods. It was wonderful. We love the high quality eggs. We decided to buy your eggs for our breakfast. Thanks to that lady, and Thanks for your hard work!
As you have heard many times ” Your eggs are amazing”, I to would have to agree. I am feeding my family of 5 (2yr old twins, 8 year old, myself and my husband) who LOVE your eggs, and I love knowing that they are pastured and good for us! Even though I have to drive 30 min to the nearest store that carries them it is worth it to me. I will continue to buy your product knowing that my family will be healthier because of the WONDERFUL way you decided to treat your chickens. Thank you.
Thank you for your commitment to creating happy lives for these lovely creatures. I have ceased to be part of the misery machine which is commercial food farming. Yes it costs more, and no, I am not a wealthy person, but it is a very small thing that I can do until I am able to have chickens of my own.
I absolutely love your eggs and have been getting them since whole food started carrying them. They are the only eggs I eat.
I LOVE YOU!! Thank you sooooooo much for providing eggs I trust. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
Hi – we switched to your eggs when my vegetarian wife started consuming a lot of eggs during her pregnancy. I wanted to make sure she got the purest eggs given the amount she was consuming, in spite of the fact that it meant we’d be spending almost twice what we usually do for a dozen eggs. But we were kind of surprised at the huge difference in taste and consistency. We are BOTH consuming more eggs now, as a result. I don’t think we’ll be switching back.
I recently purchased your eggs from whole foods and I’m in love with them. Edit
We own a bakery business in Los Angeles. We are organic and gluten free. We have been baking with your eggs, because it is of utmost importance that we only use eggs from humanely treated chickens.
Hello, First I want to say thank you for raising your hens in the most beautiful way….God Bless You! I refuse to buy eggs from caged farms, & recently was alerted by The Cornucopia Institute , that my “organic , farm raised ” Eggland’s Best, that I bought at my conventional store ,,were indeed the worst! I found A Fresh Market who sells your eggs near where I live . I was looking for “Vital Farms” eggs,,,do you go under the name Alfresco Farms, as well? I hope so… Thank you so much!
These are hands down the best eggs I’ve ever eaten. There very pricey where I live so I’m hoping they don’t raise in price much more. Even though Im sure ill still buy them.
Hi I appreciate that your hens are roaming around and have as happy a life as they can. I believe this affects the egg quality.
I’m a vegan at present only because i haven’t been able to find a farm that has hens raised so wonderfully (like yours seem to be!), whose beaks aren’t tipped, and whose eggs are unfertilized. Thank you for the work that you do to provide such humanely raised, and spoiled 🙂 hens. You will be my first egg purchase in 8 years!
You listened! thank you! I emailed you regarding the sell by dates on your eggs in Hingham, MA whole foods…for the past few months the sell by dates have been the same as the other brands. Now, I buy a dozen each week. Good Work & Thank-You
Just wanted to let you guys know how thrilled I am that you are now available at PCC natural markets here in the Northwest through your pasture verde label. I am a very infrequent purchaser of eggs because I know the cage free label is not what it seems. I only purchase at local farmers markets but they sell out quickly and the quality can vary dramatically. I’ve seen some very pale sickly looking eggs and after paying top dollar for them I was not happy. Humane treatment of animals is the most important issue for me but I also want a healthy delicious egg. You guys are amazing and have addressed every issue I care about. It may seem silly but I could almost cry with relief knowing that my food is coming from such a great place. I love your rescue work and really appreciate your concern of male baby chicks. These are tough issues and the fact that you guys are willing to tackle them and do your best makes me feel good about buying your eggs. Thanks so much for all you are doing.
I love your eggs and the way you raise your chickens as treasured living beings. I would love to buy a t-shirt with your logo (hen with egg inside)on it if such a thing exists.
I never write letters like this, but I wanted to thank you for providing us (society) with eggs from humanely raised chickens. I do not eat chicken, but I do eat eggs, and I have been searching for a farm that raises their hens humanely for quite some time now. I was even toying with the idea of cutting eggs from my diet, because i couldn’t find a farm that I trusted. I actually JUST discovered you in Whole Foods. The eggs taste so much better than any egg I’ve had, but most of all, I feel so great knowing that I am eating something from an animal that was treated the way it should be! I am also grateful that you care enough to keep your egg laying hens separate from the chickens that you raise for meat. Most farms just wouldn’t have the decency to do that. Thank you so much and keep doing what you’re doing! I’ll be a customer for life.
Good for you for taking one of the first steps to bringing our food production back to healthy practices! The animals deserve to be treated well while they produce the food we consume and there is no reason why companies cannot be ethical and profitable. Well done and I hope you open a farm in Florida soon!
I just wanted to say that until I ran across your eggs at my local Whole Foods, I had completely given up on finding eggs that were produced in an ethically and environmentally responsible way. Thank you for doing what you do!
I found your eggs through the Mercola site which led me to the Cornucopia Institute. I read their egg scorecard and saw the organic eggs I’d been eating were rated the lowest. Your eggs are delicious and the yolks have a nice yellow-orange color – much different from the other organic eggs we’ve bought. Your humane, back-to-basics farming is something I am happy to support!
Dear Vital Farms, Just wanted to say that your packaging is GORGEOUS and your eggs divine. Great work. Thanks for doing what you do!
Since I discovered your eggs, I want to assure you I will never buy eggs from anybody else! The humane treatment of animals is the most important thing for me, because, everything else comes from that: healthy food, healthy bodies, long life… Thank you!
Hi guys, I just want to say thanks for your good work- I’m a conscientious eater and because of that i rarely get the chance to eat animal products. I don’t eat meat, but I see no problem with taking a few eggs off of these happy chickens- Thanks again and best of luck in all of your future endeavors. with Aloha, dylan
i tried your eggs and i loved it,reminded me of my grandpas farm hens.so healthy ,so yellow.!
Hello! I discovered your magnificent eggs at my local Whole Foods store the other day. The eggs are so beautiful and the freshest eggs I believe I have ever eaten. The whites are so firm – amazing. Thank you for your commitment to the humane treatment of your terrific chickens and for producing a truly quality food to enhance our bodies AND our souls. Kudos!! Love and many blessings, Donna
Hi, I gave up eggs (along with all animal products) 17 years ago after learning about the horrors of factory farming. However, I recently read a story in the Humane Society of the U.S.’s monthly magazine about a new 5-step certification program for humane and sustainable agriculture, and I started to consider going back to eating eggs. I came across your eggs in Whole Foods this weekend, read up on your farms on the website, and decided to purchase a dozen-egg carton. This morning I had scrambled eggs and thoroughly enjoyed them – both the taste and knowing the animals are being treated with respect and allowed to live as nature intended. I never thought I’d go back to eating eggs, but I see this can be done in a humane and ethical manner. Thank you.
Love your VF eggs, but cost of new set of tires boosts my cost/egg; I drive to San Antonio 2x/mo to buy; any closer options? if you ever give a seminar on operating parameters of being farmer-contractor to VF, I’d sign up; I grew up in chicken biz.
I recently discovered your eggs in Whole Foods Colorado Springs. Your eggs taste better than any I’ve ever had. Thank you for taking care of the chickens!
I’ve been a vegetarian for 13 years and strongly support what you do and how you raise and care for your hens. I read in one of your first newsletters via my egg cartons, that you do tours. I would LOVE to take a tour of your Austin farm but was unable to find out when you have visitors or tours. Please send me a calendar or schedule of when you have tours of your farms. Thank you!
I just had two fried eggs, and yum, my god , they taste just like the ones i used to have at my grandmother. i congratulate you with all honesty. Now my question is: is it possible to deliver chicken and eggs. I live far from Whole food market and i do not think i will ever enjoy eggs again. My aunt happened to go to Ann Arbor and got me some. This is how i came across those delicious, yummy eggs. While i hope i get a positive answer, i send you my best regard.
I so appreciate your kind reply! I am delighted to know Vital Eggs will be back at Whole Foods soon. They are absolutely delicious! The best eggs that I have every eaten!
Thank you so much for caring about God’s little creatures and our health. Your eggs are the BEST. Give the girls a big hug from me and my family.
You people are nuts, crazy, don’t do what other big chicken companies are doing to make HUGE dollars, I love it. I was called by a head hunter yesterday asking me if I would consider talking to you. Never heard of you so he gave me the web address. I worked for the MAN in big chicken world of business and hated it. We lived our life daily by the breast market and how many (BPM) we could run down the line. You go against everything sacred to the “poultry industry” volume. Best to you, keep to your business model it’s the one thing that sets you apart.
I bought your eggs last week, my hens are slacking due to heat. Yours look just like mine who free-range on 1/2 acre! Beautiful golden upright yolks! Awesome!
My family has chosen to buy your eggs which Whole Foods sells at $6/doz for about a year. And I know these chickens have a wonderful life on your farm. Edit
I recently purchased your eggs and I have to admit when I first saw them I didn’t expect much so I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were just like the eggs my grand-mother used to feed us. She had her own chickens and we had fresh eggs all the time. I thought that flavor was gone for good until I ate one of your eggs. You have a wonderful product – please don’t change it. Edit
Thank you for including the Vital Farms News insert in the eggs I purchased at Whole Foods. I do not have any hesitation paying more for a product when I know the animals are being treated humanely. I will spread the word to my friends and family. As the company grows, please don’t lose sight of your very important mission.
LOVE LOVE LOVE what you guys do!! and LOVE your eggs!! To years of much success and many other companies to follow your lead!!
I tried your eggs for the first time today… 3 minutes in boiling water… firm shell… tender white, soft yolk, and the finest taste ever. You’re doing something right ! Keep those chicks happy ! 😉 Thank you for a wonderful product and caring for the ecology, too. Many companies should take note of your direction and accomplishments.
Hi, Just purchased your eggs, and then read your story online. I made my purchase on faith, even though the cost of your eggs was nearly 3 times the cost of similar eggs (or at least similar shaped). After reading your mission statement online, and seeing the collection of fine folks who make up your enterprise, I was happy I did. I will be making myself breakfast soon, and even if the eggs are not tastier than other eggs I’ve eaten, I will be content knowing that my soul is better off, as is the chickens and planet earth. Congratulations and best of luck, in all you do!
I’ve been buying your eggs ever since I learned that The Cornucopia Institute score card gave you a “5-egg” rating. Btw, Loved your new packaging design! Keep up the good work! You guys are wonderful and amazing!
I really like your eggs. The dark orange color yokes immediately showed me your eggs were great, and the taste is spectacular. There was a farm an hour away from my chef school that had chickens roaming around and they produced eggs that were so fantastic I thought I never get eggs again that were so good. Then I discovered Vital Farms.
I thank you for loving and caring for the hens in such a respectful manner. I remember my grandparents farm in Kentucky. The animals were treated with respect and lived in a natural environment of fresh air, water, earth, sunshine and good food. Seems we have totally lost that connection except for businesses like yours. And of course I love your eggs! I look forward to cracking the eggs open and seeing the rich yolk colours. I also love the different colours of the shell. I made pumpkin bread last night with your eggs and the yolks were pumpkin/golden colour. I’m so happy that some businesses are changing our relationship to our fellow creatures and our natural world. God Bless You and the Hens!
Just wanna say thank you for doing everything right! I found you guys in Whole Foods and I have turned all my friends on to your company. I will never buy another brand. I also buy your full size chickens as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a fantastic product…the way IT SHOULD BE!!
Just wanted to let you know, I am sitting down to lunch (choosing to eat eggs, bacon, and have some coffee) and am enjoying my first two eggs from my first dozen of eggs from Vital Farms. I am SO happy there are farms like you out there! Your eggs are delicious. They are good for my body and, also, good for my conscience. Don’t stop what you’re doing. This country needs you! New lifetime fan, Cliff
$8.55 a dozen, oh what the hell I’ll give them a try. I have tried local eggs that claim to be pasture-raised organic and all but your egg do not lie. Your eggs are simply superior in flavor. Of course they are better for you but they tastes amazing too. I eat about 4 eggs for breakfast daily but your eggs are so freakin rich i only want 2 eggs or max 3 because I am so satisfied. I have even thought of making a coup in my backyard due to your eggs! Regardless I love your company, your concept, and your girls’ eggs. Thank you for making this idea come into fruition.
Hello. I’m sending this email because I recently discovered your eggs and I want to tell you they are the absolute best I have ever tasted. Not only are your eggs the BEST, but I want to commend you on your passion for the humane treatment of animals. I love your dedication to respecting that theses are living, feeling creatures. I will support your efforts forever. Thank you. Cindy
I am a Registered Dietitian and I specialize in weight loss. I would love to provide my clients with handouts or fliers that would tell them more about what you offer and can provide them towards a healthier living. Also, on a more personal level, do you offer visits to your farms? I would love to bring my girls there to show them more about where their food comes from.
I love everything about how you get your eggs. Thank you for doing it the right way and not the cruel way. I will be buying your eggs from now on.
We recently moved from New England where there are farms everywhere to Atlanta where farms…not sure where they are yet. We used to buy local eggs, which were always free range so we are very familiar with high quality eggs. Yours are of exceptional quality and I believe the best tasting eggs I have ever had. The videos are very nice because it is often so hard to tell if farmers are actually treating the birds with respect. You obviously care about the animal’s welfare and that is great to see. I won’t even consider another brand and hope to visit your farm soon this fall if it can be arranged.
I wanted to thank you for your approach to ethical food, and the information on your site. I recently moved to MA from Pittsburgh, PA where I was able to get local pastured eggs very easily. So imagine my delight when shopping last week I came upon your eggs being offered in the cooler (at Whole Foods)! Awesome! Anyway, I’ve been feeding your eggs to my family since.
Your eggs are so delicious, healthy and full of color that they serve an improvement in the recipe. I use enamel pans, but any good pan except non stick, may be used. Put the pan on very low heat, add some good grassfed butter. The butter will keep the eggs from sticking to the pan. When the butter is warm and a little foamy add the eggs and cook over low fire. Bon appetite.
Hi, I’ve been touting your brand to anyone who will listen because I feel the egg industry is by far the most inhumane food production process in Western nations. The way you raise hens needs to be the norm. Thank you for your time in answering these questions. Most importantly, thank you for being a model that can be used to light the way for change in this industry!!! In appreciation, Cat
Hello Vital Farms, Your eggs are awesome………….fresh and delicious! I am in sync with your philosophy. God Bless y’all and the precious animals. Oh, do you guys give tours? Thanks so much, have a great day & see y’all later,
For those of us with long term memory of Central Texas (50 years or more), I can not help but smile at the “Chicken Ranch” name. When I read the blurb about “our girls” I burst into giggles! Can’t help but wonder if your choice of name was deliberate? In any case, I do enjoy the eggs, and getting a smile from the egg carton makes them more fun?
Thank you for thinking about the big picture. We are grateful for your thoughtful and humane approach to “doing business.”
I live in Torrance California where on your website says that you sell your pastured eggs at my local Whole Foods. I am so looking forward to try your eggs and hope that you continue to supply them there. I would be a customer for life! Thankyou!
I became a huge fan of Vital Farm eggs as soon as I bought my first tray about two or three months ago. I can seriously taste the difference in a Vital Farm egg. I’ve always bought organic eggs for my family but Vital Farm eggs tasted different — in a very good way — from other organic eggs I’ve bought in the past. So, I made the switch and bought my second tray of Vital Farms eggs. I truly believe in the quality of your eggs and have enthusiastically promoted it to my other organic-egg-loving friends. In fact, I know that I will be a forever customer.
Just a quick note of appreciation for the humane and earth-friendly approach to taking care of both your “girls” and the environment.
Greetings, I’m a big fan of your eggs, and recently my local market started carrying your Al Fresco eggs. I’ve been a big fan of your Backyard Eggs since I first found them. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for such a wonderful choice in eggs. I buy them every week at the Westmont, Illinois Whole Foods. I can taste the love every time I eat your girls eggs ;o) (Plus, I just didn’t know that eggs can taste soooooo great!) Each Time You Buy You Vote!
I’m sure you have received a plethora of positive comments about your amazing eggs but what’s one more? I had almost given up eating eggs until I decided to try your pasture-raised (I love that term by the way; it’s much better than free-range), at a local Whole Foods store. I noticed the difference as soon as I cracked the eggs. They had color! But even better, they tasted delicious. They were rich, buttery, and soft and were the epitome of perfection. And I love how they have less fat, cholesterol and calories than other eggs. Well done and thank you!
I always shop at Whole Foods so I expect a certain level of green and ethical product. But I have also heard that “free range” is subjective. So I was happy to come across your “humanely raised outdoors” eggs. But the real happiness was when I returned home. I had one egg left from the previous dozen. Cracked it, cracked one of the happy eggs. Yours was brighter. It actually made the other yoke look downright pale by comparison. Thank you.
I’m pleased to do my part in getting the Whole Foods store in Andover, Mass. to stock your eggs. Keep up the great work and I will continue to discuss and promote the benefits of consuming your product.
Your eggs are great. Thanks for doing what you do.
Love your eggs! And love the entire concept of pasture raised, and the freedom the “girls” have in roaming the pasture. It makes my heart happy to see the happy chickens. So humane and so caring. I support this entire concept and am so glad we have vital Farms. Thank you for caring about the welfare of the lucky chickens that get to live on your farms.
Going ‘old school’ back to eggs that I used to help gather on my uncles and aunts farms. You have a new customer.
We love these eggs so much we won’t buy any other kind again.
Love your eggs! Where is your farm located? Thanks!
I had the privilege of spotting your small family farm eggs @ a newly-opened Natural Grocers store locally. Just want you to know that they are every bit as you describe them. I grew up on “home grown” eggs & produce from my farming parents & am grateful when I find food sources that are as close to nature as possible. Thank you!
I’ve been enjoying your girls’ wonderful eggs since I discovered them in Prescott AZ. Thank you , thank you for offering a compassionate alternative to factory-raised chicken eggs (that literally pale by comparison) or going vegan. Included is a little thank you gift of an e-mail smile.
I jumped for joy the first time I saw you eggs and read your insert inside the carton. And when I sat down at the table with one of your eggs fried up for my morning breakfast, it put me back on our family farm as a young girl in North Dakota in the henhouse gathering eggs from our free roaming chickens. Everything about your eggs is the epitamy of perfection. I hadn’t had an egg that flavorful and beautiful since I left the farm in 1975. You deserve a medal of honor.
I wanted to take the time to thank you for everything you do in providing the country with wholesome eggs. As a soon to be mother, my nutrition and my families nutrition has become even more important to me. Since I can’t enjoy over easy until late August, the boiled egg is where it’s at for me. I have loved reading about who you are and the families (including the “girls”) that work so hard to provide a product that isn’t full of disgusting hormones and antibiotics. I may pay a couple dollars more for a Vital Farms product but to me that couple dollars is worth the health of my family and the health of the chickens and farmers that help bring home my Vital Farms egg carton. I hope to be one of the customers that can spread the word about your farms so that more of us are investing in the right future for our country. So, Thank You and keep up the excellent work!
I recently purchased a dozen of your lovely eggs from a Whole Foods in a nearby town in Northern VA. I am a huge supporter of truly grass-fed, free-range eggs and totally support your business. My eggs tasted great for breakfast.
Oh I bought a half dozen of your eggs from Whole Foods here in New Orleans and could see the difference when I cracked the first egg. Man did they taste good, so good that I went back the next day and purchased a dozen. I am 65 and they reminded me of when I was a young man. I don’t think I could ever go back to buying the cheeper eggs again. I found your eggs because I have been starting to eat more healthy before I have health issue. Thanks for producing such a good quality egg.
Never had I enjoyed buying a dozen eggs until today when I grabbed that vitalfarms dozen and read the little pamphlet inside. It truly made me smile to know there are caring companies like you who care not only about the animals but also about the quality of product the consumer receives! I am impressed and smiling as I eat my favorite meal: vitalfarms sunny side up eggs! They really do taste better!
I found your eggs in the Berkeley Bowl in Berkeley the other day and after trying them I’m never going to buy other eggs!! Best of all you seem to take care of your animals which is very important to me. Thank you!
Hello! Thank you for your amazing eggs! they are truly awesome and I’m proud to buy them 🙂 Thank you so much
Thank you! Thank you! For raising your hens the way you do and to your hens for producing eggs the way they should (and used), to be. I raised hens in LA, They foraged in my back yard and spent their nights in their pen. They were supplemented with grains, but had full access to bugs and greens and our salad trimmings and trimmings from our organic garden. I haven’t had an egg since that measured up and yours surpass. Now I live in a rural area, but in a community where I’m not allowed to have chickens. I loved my hens and would love to have some again, but in the meantime, I’m so thrilled to have discovered yours and their extraordinary eggs! I’ve told the management at both Whole Foods where we shop, two hours from home, “Never stop carrying these eggs; this is real food!” With deep appreciation
I would like to congratulate you on your mission and product. We love your Pasture Verde eggs. I tried them once, when they were on promotion at our local Mother’s market, and have not bought any other brand of eggs since! The taste is wonderful! We would love to buy your backyard bird chicken as well. Any news on when this will be available in Orange County, CA? Hope it’s soon! Keep up the good work.
Love your eggs, I appreciate the hard work your producers do ..although your eggs are not the least expensive, I don’t mind spending a few “henny pennies” more for your product! Keep up the good work,
Hello! We have been enjoying your eggs and want to thank you for raising your chickens right! I love the sight of your chickens running around the pasture! We are learning more about pastured poultry and eggs and are curious why you have to supplement with feed? Why is this necessary and why “vegetarian” feed?
I love you! I do! I’ve always wanted my eggs to come from happy nonstressed chickens. Aside from getting my own, not feasible, I had to rely on truth in advertising. Somewhere in all the food documentaries I watched over the years, I remember a farmer in Virginia who loved his chickens. It was obvious. He made sure they had all the pasture grass to munch on. Plenty of time outside. They had great little houses too. He butchered them humanely too. It was eye opening. I think I paid 4.99 for a dozen vital farm eggs. I would gladly, willingly and joyfully pay $6-7 for eggs brought forth in this way. Thank you for bringing them to my local Whole Foods!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful product! I found you on certifiedhumane.org and am so happy that I now have a humane egg option. I really enjoy these eggs – the taste is wonderful, but also knowing that I’m supporting ethical farming practices. I am now a faithful Vital Farms customer – please keep selling them at Whole Foods in San Diego!!
Thank you Vital Farms for the pasture raised chickens! I went to my local Whole Foods today and to my surprise saw behind the glass, “pasture raised chicken”. I blinked thinking it wasn’t true. I asked the butcher where they came from and he said Vital Farms. My response, “I thought they only did eggs”. I then asked if WF would be carrying them regularly and he was unsure. So, I stocked up! One for roasting and one got cut up and frozen. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am of your care for the chickens and the food that ends up on the table in my home; the quality is incomparable. I hope they become a regular there — my fingers are crossed, and I am telling everyone about Vital Farms backyard birds.
Just wanted to say thank you guys for treating animals with respect. It’s very hard to find brands like yours in Colorado, but it’s so worth it. The difference is definitely in the taste, and I can’t imagine buying a different brand ever again.
I’m so absolutely delighted to come across your eggs/farm!!!! I’d given up eating eggs for a variety of reasons. Number one, the health and environment of the hens! I know chickens. I’ve lived in Europe on two farms. Also, I don’t wish to continue supporting an industry which disregards nature and animals…. trashes everything in the name of money. The stories and facts which you shared about”the girls” made my day. From here on, not only will I tell all that I encounter about “the girls”, I will support your business by buying ya’ll’s eggs. Thanks for doing such a wonderful act of love for all concerned. My you all live long and prosper!
I just stumbled onto your company as I was trying to find the most humane “looking” carton of eggs for my husband. I decided to whip him up a batch of eggs as he was recovering from surgery. I personally, do not eat eggs and I can’t bear to support such a cruel and horrifying industry. I noticed your little blue newsletter and checked out your website. I was quite impressed and so happy to see that there is finally a company that truly cares about the welfare of the chickens and our environment. Most of the companies claim to care by writing “free range” on the packaging but I know that it isn’t true as I know the definition of what that means to corporate companies. I sent your website to all of my friends, hoping they will make the RIGHT choice when purchasing eggs! Wishing you all the best and much success:-).
Hello, my husband was instructed by his alternative doctor to use your eggs because of the purity of the product and higher nutritional value due to what the hens eat. (My husband is a cancer THRIVER, thank God.) At any rate, we’ve been purchasing your eggs for over a year and love them. However, it really is difficult to pay for all of the different things we utilize to maintain my husband’s health. Would you please send us some coupons to offset the cost? That would be so very appreciated. Thank you. 🙂
Just wanted to thank y’all for what you do. Just ate my first Vital Farms eggs today and I am a very happy and thankful customer.
