Honey-Cured Egg Yolks
These jammy egg yolks flavored with spicy, herby honey are a delicious and decadent treat smeared on crispy bread!
Ingredients
- 4 Vital Farms egg yolks*
- 1/2-1 cup honey depending on size of jar
- 2 garlic cloves peeled thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano leaves
to serve:
- crusty bread
- flaky salt
- finely grated parmesan
Instructions
- Add the egg yolks to a jar and top with enough honey to cover them. Add the garlic, chili flakes, thyme, and oregano.
- Make sure the egg yolks are fully submerged in the honey mixture, place a lid on the jar and place in the fridge for 4 days.
- To serve, spread an egg yolk over a piece of crusty bread, sprinkle with flaky salt and some grate parmesan and another drizzle of honey.
