Honey-Cured Egg Yolks

These jammy egg yolks flavored with spicy, herby honey are a delicious and decadent treat smeared on crispy bread!

Makes 4 cured yolks

Ingredients  

  • 4 Vital Farms egg yolks*
  • 1/2-1 cup honey depending on size of jar
  • 2 garlic cloves peeled thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano leaves

to serve:

  • crusty bread
  • flaky salt
  • finely grated parmesan

Instructions 

  • Add the egg yolks to a jar and top with enough honey to cover them. Add the garlic, chili flakes, thyme, and oregano.
  • Make sure the egg yolks are fully submerged in the honey mixture, place a lid on the jar and place in the fridge for 4 days.
  • To serve, spread an egg yolk over a piece of crusty bread, sprinkle with flaky salt and some grate parmesan and another drizzle of honey.
