We began producing Pasture Verde eggs for our grocery clients outside Whole Foods Market in 2011.
Our Pasture Verde eggs are produced on the exact same farms, by the same small family farmers, and in the same sustainable, ethical way as our Vital Farms eggs. The only difference is the name on the carton.
On our farms in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Georgia, we treat the land and our ladies with the respect they deserve. These birds are truly pasture-raised; all of our pastures are Certified Organic, so of course we never use any chemicals or pesticides, but depend on natural growth. Our birds are also Certified Organic from day one, and never receive antibiotics or hormones.
Keeping our birds on fresh pasture is a labor-intensive process. Each hen enjoys a minimum of 108 square feet of space per bird to roam free; regular rotation keeps our pastures resilient and covered in vegetation. We are proud to provide our girls with more space per bird than any other egg farms in the country. The life our hens enjoy is designed to promote their natural instinctive behaviors. Roaming, foraging, and living outdoors is how hens were born to spend their time.
