At Alfresco Farms, we work with nature to create the very best egg possible.
On our small family farms in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Georgia, we treat the land and our ladies with the respect they deserve. These birds are truly pasture-raised, with no added hormones or antibiotics and no pesticides or herbicides on their pastures.
Keeping our birds on fresh pasture is a labor-intensive process. Each hen enjoys a minimum of 108 square feet of space per bird to roam free; regular rotation keeps our pastures resilient and covered in vegetation. We are proud to provide our girls with more space per bird than any other egg farms in the country. The life our hens enjoy is designed to promote their natural instinctive behaviors. Roaming, foraging, and living outdoors is how hens were born to spend their time.
While a hen can live on grass alone, chickens do require a feed ration to lay eggs regularly. We source the very best antibiotic-free, vegetarian feed we can find. Though not USDA Certified Organic, these eggs contain all the benefits of a pasture-raised lifestyle; they are tastier and more nutritious, without the higher cost due to organic feed.
