Our Farms

Our experience with pasture raising began when Matt was a young lad selling fresh farm eggs door-to-door in New England.  More recently, our Onion Creek farm in Austin, TX has been the ideal place to refine our methodologies and develop the core principles that make every Vital Farms egg the finest we know how to produce.  Today, we are working with other independent farmers across the southwest region to make pasture raised, organic eggs more widely available.

While much of the agriculture industry has migrated away from small scale operations, the Vital Farms model can be succesful even on a small scale.  Outside of our home farm in Austin, our supply base is made up of independent farmers who are passionate about raising quality food, and who understand that our core farming principles make our eggs special.

Onion Creek Farm

Our flagship farm is on 27 acres of fertile lowlands with beautiful Onion Creek meandering through the property.

Heartland Egg Farm

Tucked away in Northwest Arkansas, Heartland Egg boasts scenic, rolling acres of dense pasture and mature trees.

Happy Chick Farm

Happy Chick is an upstart farm in South Texas that is utilizing some wonderful pastureland that had been fallow for many years.
